  1. Thanks Skip..that makes complete sence...I will check that out when I get home from work and thanks to Benebob I have a new connector coming..hatchsubs comment makes sence too:grin: .. Oh also Skip..Melis's XT6 is white mine is dark grey with rusty highlights:)
  2. Just curious...I found Rockys demon ( bad connector on the Alt) I havent gotten the new connector yet and this morning I had to turn around and bring Rocky home cause the lights dimmed and he was back to charging at around 9 volts...( risked it and took Bucky to work )I just cleaned the contacts on the connector..cause the new one isnt here yet..checked the connection to the battery..checked fuses and links...No better..can running with that connector bad ( caused glowing dash lights) burn out the new 9 month old Alt? The whole issues started with a bad serpentine belt so the alt wasnt turning right..Any..opinions Thanks
  3. Dave fixed the pod controls on that side so the lights go down now..before they were always in the up position...even when we tried to crank them down they would fight you and nip and bite to stay up...as for the glowing lights...well...Rocky had to come home tis morning cause the battery wasnt charging again and wiggling the connector didnt fix it ( which it usually does)..light were too dull to drive with ..hope running it on the bad connector didnt add to much stress to the Alt and burn out the regulator on it...since it is a pretty new alt.Going to run it up to Advanced soon and see if they can test it Hey Daeron...that comment about the rocket wedge from outer space...made me laugh...they call Rocky the Jetson car at work:grin:
  4. :Flame: Daeron!! a few days ago it was 4 degrees here with a minus 15 wind chill...now ask what cold is to the people who live in Canada or Alaska..now thats cold!
  5. Daeron... I feel for you and have been there myself..lost the only ever brand new vehicle I have ever and probably will ever own the same way ( it was my 94 Ford ..I know..Ranger XLT..loved it)..And if it makes you feel better...I dont have the Air Ride Suspension..mine has been converted over to coil overs. Also..I own probably the UGLIEST XT6 on the road right now..but they are out there..Melis got one for a great deal...needed some work but amazing price..Mine has basically a new motor ( 22K factory crate motor) but the body is shot. Gives you something to look forward to..to set goals to...I still want a much newer Outback Sport wagon for daily driving..but cant do..but maybe next year..who knows.
  6. Carmen..its my 88 XT6 I call Rocky ..just got him recently for a great price from a great member..kinda got tossed into daily driving before I really wanted him to be due to complete brake failure on my 92 Loyale wagon ( Bucky ). And Lucas..here is a teaser for you:grin: I love this pic for some reason
  7. Came home to my yellow slip in the mailbox..WOW that was quick!!...geesh now the pressure to get the cars in the shape I want them in a short time
  8. They came up late yesterday and we worked into the night ..but Rocky now has headlights that go up and down....and a passenger side window that goes up and down...and Dave making the call to Ben for the new connecter...I should be able to start working on the cosmetics now without further worries about the mechanicals:banana: Carlisle Import Car Show here we come!
  9. Since I have a second Subie now..I would also do a frame up restoration of Rockymaybe take some hints from Huck and toss the 3.3 H6 in him..and still go with my OMG Bright Yellow and Black paint scheme
  10. Thanks ..I got it covered thoughBenebob has some and is sending one out..Thanks so much for the offer:)
  11. That car looks good compaired to most that year...I cant get over how nice those rockers are!! Still just a dusting here in CT..I dont think its ever gonna snow
  12. Thanks..I thought so..Waiting to hear back from someone who has some...May the excorcism begin!! Bye Bye fred..I will miss you!
  13. I do believe I found Rockys Electrical Demon...who I lovingly named Fred...could this be the cause of my red glowing dash lights and occasional charge issue??? I think this connector is toast yes??
  14. Thanks guys..checking all this right now.
  15. Or just get some stock hubcaps and be creative: Mine
  16. As most of you know I have temporarily retired my beloved Loyale mainly due to brake failure...he has always had brake issues. Anyway..started him up yesterday to run him ( I hate letting cars sit) and I noticed when he is idling and you step on the brakes ..he wants to stall...I am thinking brake booster/master cylinder..Peddle goes to floor even after pumping them a few times...I have a spare one so I may just swap it out and see if that helps ( cause I miss my boy). Anyway..what do you guys think? TIA
  17. Nice car!! But those hubcaps gots to go....IMO:grin:
  18. I will join in with the CT caravan...if you guys can keep up with me :-p Andrew..Like I said...I love the demons..specially the red glowing dash lights:grin: I am serious too...(Dave and melis are coming up probably this weekend with FSMs in hand to help debug all this plus I just bought some of my own FSMs)..You know I have a sence of humor..I own old Subarus..2 things you must have..tools on hand at all times and a sence of humor;)
  19. me likes Hildy....OMG:eek: there wasnt anything left of that front fender...Holy Canoli Batman!! Glad she is back on the road...looking forward to getting Bucky back on the road soon myself.
  20. Yup ..I 100% know what you mean...thats why I am seriously thinking of spending the money and having my friend get new ones from his catalog So you coming down to carlisle?? Abdrew is bringing the 73 wagon and the 75 Coupe..Moosens is bringing his 78 wagon too I believe
  21. Good Job..OK you have my curiosity up..cant wait to see what you are doing at Carlisle...I happen to be counting down the days and I already told work to KMA that Friday.
  22. Right now Rocky isnt anything to look at..he is actually very ugly...but he has potential..His final coloring has been agreed upon as bright yellow with alot of black. But here he is right now. (Andrew you just dont know how happy I am with this car!)
  23. I am spoiled having 2 friends who fabricate..and one of them has the "secret" catalog. But I am also lucky in knowing that my 2 friends know how I feel about my cars and they go above what most shops would do. I will being doing rockers soon on Rocky ( the XT6 ) and havent desided to go with the new or just have them make new. The ones you got, bdg, are sure pretty ! Keep us posted on the progress! If it makes you feel better..I have planned on putting alot more time and money into my XT6 then first planned.Rocky is going to be a show piece when finished.
  24. Hey Andrew...I doubt that Rocky will be in his new paint scheme by Carlisle...but I am planning on unvailing him anyway.I have him purrrrrring like a kitten now...no squeaky squeaky,or stalling ..no sputtering...And was told I have one of the quietest Subarus around. Cant wait to see the oldies...saw the pictures but want to see them in person:banana:  Have I mentioned that I LOVE this XT6????Want him to unrecognisable by Carlisle:grin:
