Bucky Is On His Way 2 His New Home
Came home from work and everything just felt and looked empty....the driveway.. I went out to the garage and there hung his old licence plates. But I do NOT regret my choice...John even said he thinks his Mom might take Buck over ..she had one just like him..so i will be curious at her reaction. I really need to find myself another one soon...can't see life without an EA82

Bucky Is On His Way 2 His New Home
Yes.. I was sad to see him go and the driveway seems so empty now...but like I told John and Jess.... I would rather see the car used then just sitting around..He still has some good miles left in him and for being an east coast car all his life..is in pretty good shape. It was kinda hard yesterday when I was washing him..telling him whats going on...but all if fine and he approved cause when John started him up to load him on the trailer...no ticky ticky and he just purred quietly. I had to laugh after warning John about the grabbiness of the new clutch;) Bucky couldnt have gone to a better home ..thats for sure..and I am happy about it!

Bucky Is On His Way 2 His New Home
Sold for Grits and have pics to prove it...Backwoodsboy and Darlingchip just left to go back to NY after picking up Bucky.. They got tossed off the Taconic State Parkway for having a trailer but we were able to get them here.We loaded up the car..I fed them some slow cooker Chicken and Dumplins and we finished the deal. I hope they check in when they get back to let me know the trip went OK..anyway..here are the pics: Honestly...sold for grits: and the Buckster on the trailer:

advice
This thread is worthless without pics! It all depends on the shape of your brat..they are becoming more desireable to collectors but you have to know over all condition...if its excellent and you dont want a show car..sell it to a collector..if it is in good shape but has some flaws..fix it up ...if it has some issues but basically is mechanically good...lift that puppy and make it into an offroader...like this ( this is backwoodsboys Brat he showed at the carlisle Import Car Show in May..one of my favorite lifted Brats):

Whats wrong with my car?
What GD said^ Its a FWD Sedan with body damage and a fuel/electrical issue..Not really worth a whole lot Think about this...I just GAVE away my 92 Loyale wagon with a ton of extra parts and alot of new stuff already on it..and it runs like a champ...basically needed axles and tires...I started asking around $300 Your best bet would be craigslist honestly

What Could Cause a Stress Crack in Windshield?
Coming home from work today in Rocky ( the XT6 out for his once a week run) out of nowhere..his windshield just cracks...nothing hit it no hard bumps ..it just cracked..about 8 inches long right from the bottom left side. I had the windows open..cause it was hot today ( car temp was saying around 92 )..The only thing I can think of is maybe his frame is starting to buckle...But I have seen worse without a problem like this...so what else could have caused it? I already priced a new one ( $250-$300 ) but I dont want to put a new one in until I know why this happened. Any Ideas?? Just my luck huh?:-\

XT water leak
I had the same problem with my XT6 ...or at least similar...The passenger side floor would fill up with water..and it ended up being allowed to do it for so long that it smelled like a cat littler box inside and had mold everywhere ( This was before I got it..I just got left with the problem) Mine only happened when I had to run the AC...had a clogged drain hole in the box under the dash on the pass side...it would fill with condensation and eventually overflow. I first pulled the hose and no water came out..then I got a coat hanger and started to reem it out..pulled some really really nasty yucky stinky gross stuff out.Now it drains properly. Does your happen only with the AC or defroster on? or after it rains? ..that would be a help also trying to figure out the problem...when does it happen?

I want a lifted EA82 wagon:( They look so cool especially with some offroading lights on the front or across the roof. But every potential I find gets bought out from under me. Thought about lifting my Imp alittle ..but why dump money into a rotbox. I want to see pics of it playing in the snow when you get some! Looks great!

XT6 issues
Cleaning the IAC is soober easy..pull it out and just spray it with brake cleaner until it runs clean..you can even soak it in brake cleaner ( just watch the electricals) I know Jim probably fixed the CTS so that shouldnt be a worry. The "crunchy" shifting...My XT6 is like that abit too..but I dont have any slop but its a very tight shift...arent these trannys unsycronised? I am going to try the cocktail on mine maybe this winter. IF you think the coil is a problem...the XT6 takes the same as a regular EA82 ..I am running my Loyales spare in mine Do not fret...Ruby Sue is a good girl..she is getting used to you and learning you...I went through the same with Rocky. Took some time some swaring so threatening...but he is finally..a complete gentleman.( 100% turn around from wanting to push his carcass off a cliff..engulfed in flames huh:lol: )

Somebody save this RX!
I thought about snagging this...but it would just sit here and rot cause I would never get around to it...It would be the perfect candidate for an EJ swap though:grin: I wouldnt waste my time with an EA82T ...but thats just my opinion..only cause I have read far to many problems with them.

Automatic Loyale to Standard.
Another topic thats been discussed about a million times..use the Search menu 5 spd swap...or go into the USRM there is a complete step by step on how to do it

Backwoodsboy!
I wish I could help but the new hjob..not past my 90 day thing...so I cant take off...Can one of you guys see about harrys getting me a gas tank for the Imp ( 1.8 4WD )..Like..save if and not poke holes in it.

Rust spot behind Subaru word on my EA82.
Yup you can get it at wally world or Ace...or even the auto parts store...its in a tube...well kinda like 2 tubes held together...had a plunger ( think of it as a big needle) ..what it does is it mixes equal amounts of the 2 items together ..the 2 "chemicals" have a reaction that makes them very sticky and hardens very hard.. There are different types..5 minute hold ..30 minute etc etc..Its definately stronger then glue...I used epoxy to fix a loose piece of trim on Rocky and still holding super strong

Rust spot behind Subaru word on my EA82.
I would use an epoxy over glue..will give you a stronger bond and holds better when exposed to heat or cold

Anyone know a Good Place for a New Fuel Tank?
Bucky92 replied to Bucky92's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIts still $357 from 1stsubaru....really dont want to spend that much on an old Imp..not a big deal..I will just live with having to put gas in it every day and keep lots of dry gas handy over the winter.

Anyone know a Good Place for a New Fuel Tank?
Bucky92 replied to Bucky92's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXBeen to Harrys quite a few times...they poke holes in the tanks... I tried all the aftermarket companies..and the only place thats showing a tank is through Subaru
