  1. Look at my siggy Shawn:grin: Rocky is an 88 ..it was the first year for the 6.
  2. I know how you feel.. I also am looking for the right EA82 D/R to lift.. Love those wagons..always make me smile everytime I see one
  3. Nice score nice car!..My XT6 has been slowly growing on me after a very rocky start ( HAHAHA and its name is Rocky too). There are definately some XT speciallists around these boards..they helped me out plenty in saving mine
  4. I actually spent the money and got a new one...tried a few junkyard ones with the EGR solenoid without luck..2 years later still no CEL
  5. You know whats sad?? I am getting to the point you just say the CEL number and I know what is wrong without even looking them up:rolleyes: I am spending entirely too much time with these things
  6. I got a call from the brother-in-law today..a friend of his believes to have "blown" the motor in his 2000 Lego..Wife drove it for a long time with little to know oil and now it is knocking ( probably threw a bearing ..I havent seen or heard it to know for sure) Is there any difference in the 2.5s over the years? Trying to locate a new/used motor for the car and I dont want to direct this person wrong.
  7. I hate the tow rope/pipe and chain method personally...got many a car home that way..best was my 66 Mustang with bad tranny and haddent been run in 10 years and very little brakes. I have also ran quite abit clutchless..but mainly by choice...rev match its easy..I have even ran my big old tow trucks without the clutch. And when the linkage broke on my Jetta and I was stuck in 4rth..I drove that home too..in the city during rush hour. But I would go with the dolly method also
  8. What you have to do is call up subeman90 ..He has a method that can't be beat .. :-p This is him putting the one on my 92 Loyale after a reseal, timing belt, new clutch, oil pump rebuild...etc etc and cookout day:
  9. So Shawn.. I have a welder now so when are you sending it my way to let me see if I can help it:grin:
  10. I kinda agree with GD on this...if you want the Brat for a toy..go for it but not for a DD. You can find LOTS of good Legos for cheap...sometimes even an Imp ( I got mine for free and 228K and runs like a top...she is my DD now)Also the Legos and Imps are easy to get parts for..I find getting parts for my other 2 ( my Loyale and XT6) even getting simple tune up parts it can be a week wait
  11. Thanks...I am trying to not like this car so it wont be hard to sell it when the time comes for a newer one...but its hard..very hard..Solid 32 mpg even with the leaky gas tank. I have put about 1500 miles on her in the past 3 weeks ( I put over 400miles per week just for work and took her to PA over the weekend) didnt use a drop of oil yet either..228K miles!
  12. Congrats!!!!
  13. I just wanted to share a couple pics ..This was my free 93 Imp L Sedan before..boring yawn: This is Now...she is still a work in process and since she is my DD she isnt going to be perfect:
  14. Just got home from Harrys...TONS of Legos..a few Imps ( not many at all)..lots-o-EA82s a couple foresters and 3 XT6s!!! Got a couple parts for Rocky...like a new taillight section and a lower steering column piece ..there werent any good uppers...a new horn set up and some odds and ends. Pheebie did wonderful on her first road trip...was getting around 32+ mpg and I will be posting updated picks of her tomorrow...to show off her new facelift.
  15. rear disk is the bomb baby!! I couldnt believe the difference in my Loyale after the swap....looking to do it on the Imp next...Have you been asking yourself why you didnt do it sooner????
  16. My XT6 was doing that for months and I believe it was the coil starting to self destruct...of course months later it did thats how I found out it was bad. Havent had the issue since..except I sometimes get the same feeling in all 3 Subarus when the compressor for the AC/Defroster kicks on
  17. I used to run on 2 different tracks..one was a 1/4 mile the other was an 1/8th mile. It could just be from the camera angle and the zoom that is whats making it look like an 1/8th
  18. It might not even be the right key....we all know that once those keys get worn and the cylinder gets worn almost any Subaru key will work. Also...did you try cleaning it out with that graphite stuff or other cleaner?
  19. Intake manifold gasket...it was hard to find on Rocky but see your other thread and it tells how to get it running enough to look for it..look on the bottom of the stack where it bolts to the head..
  20. I can first hand tell you that this does happen:grin: My XT6 Rocky had this happen about a month and a half ago....less then a week before the Dragon Meet...and in another state Actually ..trying to repair the side with the blown intake gasket we had to loosen the other side and I ended up with all 6 cylinders hydrolocked..Pull the plug and the coil wire and crank it over..it will shoot the water out of the cylinder..plug the coil and put the plug back in and it might run long enough for you to see if this is the problem...And FTW Rocky has been running great ever since the repair...no ill effects for being drowned OH!! If you cant get it running or dont want to try..start squeasing the upper Rad hose..listen for gurgles or hissing..or any sound of fluid leaks..then look closely to where you heard that sound...This is how I found my leak..look closely around the cylinder that was filled up.. I hope this is all that is wrong...Its actually an easy fix..if it is all thats wrong make sure when putting new gasket on the mating surfaces are super CLEAN ..one little speck of old gasket etc will allow for it to still leak.
  21. I watched this vid 4 times and I believe that was only an 1/8th mile track...I could be wrong but...from being an X drag racer ( had a 71 Mach 1 Mustang with a 429CJ w/ blower..doing 1/4s in the high 9-low 10s) It just looked too small to be a quarter mile. Its great though seeing a Subaru whoop-up on a car that costs 100X more:headbang:
  22. Sorry Turbone..I couldnt resist to show a pic of your hatch..
  23. You think that one is cool...you should see Turbones hatch..that thing is beyond cool! ( I keep telling him that it needs to come to my house for storage:lol: )
