  1. If anyone has an extra transmission mount for a 1989 XT6 (FWD/Automatic), please post or PM me. I need one ASAP while my tranny is out of the car. It'll take upwards to two weeks if I order from the dealership. Thanks!
  2. Oh NOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo! Man, I'm sorry to hear this. You have a lot of enthusiasm and I can see some really good posts coming from you about the mods outcome, dynos, drivabilty and such. I was really looking forward to it. BTW: I'm out of the loop myself. I wasn't until a week ago. It's not bad news though. I'm dumping my $$$ into my XT6 again. Perhaps that IS bad news. I'm still looking forward to what other peeps here do and have to say about their mods. From what I remembered, TWE should be having these parts pretty soon but who's ever right on schedule? :-p
  3. I think he has them laid up against the wheels already installed on the car. *BOINK* I couldn't tell if you were kidding or not.
  4. RallyRuss, I'm glad you posted what you did and have brought a possible problem to light. I'm reading about other people's installation 'issues' that may not have been posted about before as well too. Not saying this is a bad product but you get the impression that it's a simple 'bolt on' without any issues. I'm the type that likes to know about the problems (even small, minute, easily modified to make it fit problems). So thank you guys for your input(s).
  5. Who needs Maf adapters? They are for sissies. What's with all the blue 'snakes' in your engine bay?
  6. Sweet setup! Congrats! Giving anyone a 'how to' on wiring in that HKS SAFC? Didn't realize you had an auto. Plan on getting an upgraded torque converter? That IS cool! I could never get the Apexi SAFC's feature to work right on my OBS. I had to route the BOV back into the intake. Even still, I had to have the routing that was going back to the intake angled away from the Maf so it didn't throw bad readings.
  7. So you want to make an XT6 a street racer eh? Good luck!
  8. Adam, Did you ever figure out what you did to the modulator when you 'played' with it?
  9. Bump! Was doing research on autos tonight. Has anyone here adjusted the bands?
  10. Nothing about dry wallets is holding them up. They are just busy at the moment. There are other vendors/shops peeps could try as well.
  11. My best experiences have been with rebuilt automatics trannies as I never have to worry about them breaking again once I start playing with the engine. At any rate, thanks for your input. The car I was going to look at has approx 60k on it I believe. Man....this is a sad day. Maybe I should just get back to my XT6 and figure out what's with my engine. If I start screwing with the engine, I don't want to have to look back at the tranny once it has been tended too. Arrrgghh! Better to learn this now than after I get the car.
  12. Sorry! I was thinking it was like a gauge type that you had to splice wire for an electrical connection. So, you are referring to something like this: http://www.testequity.com/products/935/
  13. I think I asked this before but I can't remember the response. I understand this governor part to be a huge problem. Is it heat related? I'm asking because I'm --><-- close to getting an EA82T Auto and I have been very excited about it. My first 'mods' (if this is what you want to call it) would've been synthetic tranny fluid, tranny cooler, shop to modify the valve body for faster shifting and a possible Protorque torque converter. Are you telling me that this piece can not help but fail despite you keeping the tranny cool? If this is the case than this would be a HUGE disappointment and would hamper me getting this car. May as well get the XT6 fixed. The tranny MUST be able to be reliable and handle the extra power I intend to throw at it.
  14. Good info! I'm loving this! Where can I pick up some thermocouples? What did you attach the electrical end of the thermocouple too? I'm not familiar with these things except for folks saying they put it in an intake to get temps. I'd like to do some testing myself. Good info and I like the idea that you are testing before intercooler/mod temps for a baseline so you can achieve these or similar temps after mods/raising boost, etc. This is the same thing I try to do on my cars except I always test the EGTs (Exhaust Gas Temperature) stock and then try to keep the same or similar EGTs after mods.
  15. So, once your are finished with this 'cool' project, who has first dibbs on your intake?
  16. I think I asked this before but forgot the response. What did you do to the parts that made the Justy a turbocharged Justy? I'm talking about uppipe, downpipe, turbo, etc. What happened to them?
  17. This is EXCELLENT info. I never knew that the temps after the turbo would be 110F more than before. Whoa! Looks like I'm going to have to save all the info I gather for future purposes. Please keep us posted. BTW: I'm always reading about thermocouples and people testing air temps and stuff but never took the time out to see how to set something like that up. Any tips on how to go about it? I know it's supposed to be simple but just pretend I'm a complete idiot.
  18. At least you have a turbo wagon to put it on. I don't even have an EA81T or EA82T. :-\ Sounds good to me. The intake idea is what I had in mind since I like to get my own air filter. As far as a cap goes, you can get a piece of rubber vacuum hose and a rubber stopper from a hardware store and simply plug the hose up. Just trying to keep things simple.
  19. Well, I'm interested. Post up when you get some pieces done up (Maf turbo intake inlet and such). I just hope my XT6 doesn't somehow get fixed before then. *&$# XT6
  20. I don't care what you call it. I want to see some dyno numbers, 1/4 mile times, it crawling some rocks or spanking a Mustang. Yeah, Yeah!
  21. You know, someone with your experience is needed in the scooby community. Perhaps you might consider opening your own shop.
  22. A picture is worth a thousand words. Good luck! Psst! I may be interested.
  23. 2.75" is what I measured on my 1989 XT6 FWD. I thought the XT6's throttle body was small. *Slapping myself* I called RC Engineering and they said they could bore it out a few mm for $250.
  24. Thanks WJM for yet another informative post. I've been following your posts as well as other to gather as much info as possible for when I own a 1.8ltr turbo someday. I'm just a big chicken as far as the Delta Cams go. My experience with the cams on an N/A XT6 haven't been good at all. Lost a lot of power. But I guess I could go with the Delta's for the EA82T since there are others who has had good experiences as wll.
