1. After I put the liquid graphite in it did turn easier, only thing is when I turn it all the way it ceases to make contact and acts like a dead battery so I have to bring it back 1/2 a dogs hair and it starts right up. At least now it is not lagging in the start position and grinding the starter:eek::eek:
2. Congrats on your new purchase and welcome to the forum, if your wife is smart she won't replace you with Hyundai, Subaru is a far superior automobile, been around a whole lot longer too.
3. That would be very helpful, thanks in advance.
4. So where do I find the serial # on the engine? Found the EA81 that was easy to find.
5. Won't silicone collect more dust though? Causing more sticky issues.
6. I like GD for his input here too:grin:
7. No the remanned alt came from Malaysia.
8. Doesn't want to turn back to run position after starting. Never really dd since I've been driving it for the past two Weeks. Now on top of that it is getting more more difficult to switch off. Should I just replace the switch?
9. Hope you got your GL10 back.
10. I actually tried some 257 threadlock, I haven't checked it yet. The guy at Oriellys pointed it out says it is resistant to gas, went to put away and found another tube just like it, only not new:banghead::banghead:
11. Here is the fan, can't seem to do two pics on one post:banghead: http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii527/DInky261/IMAG0432.jpg[/img]"]http://
12. Here are a few additional pics.http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii527/DInky261/IMAG0429.jpg[/img]"]http:// Electric fan installed by one of the POs:grin: Sad thing is my mileage was only about 22 highway mpg. I'm hoping that the new plugs, wires, PCV, oil change, fix on leaky fuel pump fitting will make a huge difference, we will see.
13. http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii527/DInky261/IMAG0431.jpg[/img]"]http:// Will have had her in my possession two weeks come Friday
14. I figured out where the holes were that lined up with the pan bolts..duh:clap: I think one of the PO made said holes just big enough to get a 10mm socket through:headbang:, such a wonderful thing YAHOO!!! All the bolts actually were in pretty decent line too:clap: Got here all back together though and GTG for now, still need to do the valve covers though.
15. So what did you end up doing with this if anything? How many $$ would one be looking at going to the SPFI?
16. Just noticed the other day that I can here the fuel pump surging with my turn signal on anybody think this could be an issue down the the road?
17. VERY sweet ride!!! I love it! How is the project coming?
18. Reguardless, after 2000K that is wonderfull, IT is like a or smokin HOTbabe on the beach:grin:
19. Holy COW that is a clean underside of a Subaru:eek:!!!! That looks like it came off of the showroom FLOOR, of course almost anything would be better than what I have been looking at the past 2 nights!
20. Good to know that will be what I do if this doesn't hold, got it back on last night, I just need to go back & torque the bolts down to the setting. I hope I didn't screw myself by not torquing them down last night. I used the Permatex Copper spray gasket stuff.
21. How about a dab of RTV gasket stuff, should bond to the PCV tube should it not?
22. Rockauto has a kit, or at least for the 86' Brat they do.
23. How badly would it be to drill holes in the support to access those screws? Like say just a little bigger than the diameter of the driver.
24. Yeah I had to take the EGR off, no way was I going to be able to get the PCV out otherwise. Anybody else had this fun PITA time with one of these? Yes it really did suck the big horny toads prostate right out of the fairy tale when the thing cracked:eek: I was thinking that I needed a special fitted hose to replace this one didn't think about asking for such a thing when I was there:banghead::banghead:
25. http://i1258.photobucket.com/albums/ii527/DInky261/IMAG0424.jpg[/img]"]http://Getting the PCV out was the hugest PITA I've come across in awhile:banghead: I did finally get it out and the new one in but not without putting a split in the PCV connecting tube, think it will still go okay but I was wanting some extra thoughts. Near as I can tell the crack does not go beyond the end of the valve YET...
