EA71 A/C setup----Install TO EA81 on 86 Brat
Pooparu has this set for sale, I'm just wondering if I can transfer this setup to my 86 Brat with an EA81 engine. Or am I looking at a huge amount of head ache to get it right. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/139914-complete-ea71-air-conditioning-kit-used/?do=findComment&comment=1186700 Thoughts?

No Spark
So I pulled the ignition apart tonight. Stuck a flat head in the switch part and turned it and it fired right off. Put it back together and it seems to be starting fairly consistently right so far. Looking at the bottom of the lock I'm thinking the lock part really needs changed, will try to include picture.

EA81 86 Brat w/4 speed. I recently replaced my Hitachi carb with a Weber, once I get her running it is Awesome. Getting to that point seems to be a slight struggle. I had my mechanic replace bushings and other pieces on the front end. He seems to think that there is no spark while cranking the starter, then once I let off the starter it proceeds to give spark and fire off. He freely admits he doesn't know a lot about the Soobs, but thinks it may be the ignition or something else. I'm starting to think it may be the worn ignition, a few months back I noticed while going down the road I had no radio, fan, or cigarette lighter power. Figured out that the key was not returning back to the run position, thus not allowing power to the aforementioned things. So my question is could this worn ignition cause me lack of spark too, or is this the wrong thing to consider?

Newbee to subaru's
Put a Weber on it. They are about $300-400 new, but worth it. I pulled my Hitachi off to put a Weber on and OMG it runs like a NEW car.

Accelerator Cable attachment 86 Brat w/Weber
Thanks to my extensive searching THE wrong words, I didn't find it initially, I see now I just need to pull the linkage off my Hitachi and put it on my Weber, thought there was something I was missing, NOPE just me.

Accelerator Cable attachment 86 Brat w/Weber
I finally got my Weber put on my Brat, got it to run wahoo, runs AWESOME, have yet to drive it, waiting on more parts for front end. Anyway my question is, I'm having trouble attaching the accelerator cable to the Weber in a proper way, aside from the green zip tie or baling wire, the zip tie will eventually fail and have to redo it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Weber tuning questions - please read if you have a Weber!
Thanks Jeszek. Now I have one more question, upon seeing your comment about the racing only version. What if the carb I have says this statement of " for racing only", what kind of difference is there between the two models?

Weber tuning questions - please read if you have a Weber!
Okay, I've read these postings on the Weber swap, mine is still in the box, have not had time in the past 3 weeks to play with it. I did read the instructions that came with it, not very gratifying read. Let me just say I'm thoroughly confused on which way it should be mounted, both claims seem to have their validating reasons. Mine is going on an EA81. . I'll just have to see what things look like when I pull my Hitachi off.

A/C from a EA71?
Will a A/C unit from an EA71 engine fit and function on an EA81? If so what kind of retro fits would I be looking at?

Different seats for 86 Brat
Yeah, thought about the task more now and I'm seeing how it won't be to bad. Have to do my Weber install first, really starting to like garbage.

Different seats for 86 Brat
So are the RS seats the same or similar to the STI seats? I kind of wanted to sit in one before I made the 4+ hour trip to get them. Anyone know how much of a difference there is between the new ones and the 07s?

Remanned driveshaft: good, bad, or ugly?
Dinky26 replied to fishy's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThey say drive shafts have a year warranty, so if it isn't going to be good one should know before 12 months is up, especially in a DD. Just saying. I am bookmarking them for my future use personally, even though they don't have a CV axle for my Brat.

Brat Camper Shell
Sounds as though the seal is shot, from what the owner is saying. Any idea where one might find one?
