I know this may seem like a silly question, but its a very annoying problem. The post that holds the floor mat in place broke off in my 05 legacy. and since its a stick and my foot moves around a lot the mat moves around and gets under the pedals. Does anyone have an idea to keep it in place or to get the post back in? I still have the post, it just came out of the hole it was in and wont stay in now.

Ended up just being a software problem that was actually still under factory waranty Dealer fixed it for free.

Yeah, thats kinda what I was thinking about the sensor. I actually did get it to start working once for a little while and thought it was ok, but then later it did the same thing again. How much and how hard is it to replace? there is a little bit of a deductable on the warranty, so if its easy and a cheap part I might just do it.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. Even good brands it seems (like cobb or b&m) look like they're going for half the price. So I picked it up. Just got home and I love it. One wierd thing though- the cruise control is acting weird. When I turn it on, the cruise light stays on, but when you set your speed it works for a second, then turns off and the car slows down :-\. I have an extended waranty, so I'm not too worried about it, but its annoying right now.

I had to get rid of my '87 RX quite a while ago, but now I'm back! I'm picking up my 2005 Legacy sedan today! Only thing I really want to do to it right now is a short throw shifter. I know the spt one is about $300. Is it worth it or should I go with one of the cheaper ones?

I have pretty much decided to do it. So PM me with what you want and how much you are willing to pay for it not including shipping. Just to let you know, though, it isn't going too be quick. I don't have tons of time to do it, so it will probably be a couple of weeks before I can get to it.

I am thinking about just parting out my RX lately. It has gotten to the point where I just can't handle everything that is wrong with it. I love the car and wish I could get one in good working order, but this one is just in too bad of a state currently. I figure I can get more for it if I part it out. I was looking on Ebay and lsd's go for about $250, which would be nice. What other parts could I sell and for about how much?

Ok, just curious, good point about the sti being more sought after.... it would be cool to have that STI logo in the engine compartment of an '87, though Not to mentione the superior cooling, i'm sure.

yeah! I need some decals for my rx! the previous owner stripped it of all identification except for the 2 subaru emblems.

Did you do the air filter? how hard was it to do, it look pretty much stock, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the stock air box out of my RX. What should I get for parts to do that?

That looks about what my RX looks like, except mine still has the wing on the back. I think I probably would think of it as an RX.

Can the full time 4WD on RX's and the like be dubbed AWD, or does somthing else have to be in there, too?

Isn't that exaclty what subaru styles did? He basically turned his wagon into an RX Wagon.

I doubt there could be any real contractual aggreement there because you never put it in writing. Somthing similar happended to my brother, though. He was looking at an '88 Firebird for $1600, but we had to drive about a half hour to get there. He was supposed to have first dibs on it, but another guy got there before us and bought the car. Pity, too, it had a big engine and everything, auto, though, and it wasn't a subie.

Import tuning doesn't just mean ricey wings and hood scoops with useless exausght tips. It means getting the most for your money, and MAking your car fast, not just look good and be a bit fast like those ricer civics. I must say, that hood scoop looks awefull on a stock rx hood, but I have to thank you for putting it there, because I was thinking of getting one for mine (to cool the intercooler I am putting on, of course) and now know I will have to get a whole hood to make it look decent.

from what I have read, It doesn't seem seafoam is a fuel additive. How do you use it? What does it involve?
