  1. It most likely is not coming from the head it's self but the camshaft case carrier... I would say if you don't want or cannot do a reseal I would take out the bolt clean it up and clean as much oil from the hole and put some sealer around the bolt a re-torque to spec...
  2. Thanks man.. I don't know what came over me! The topic is about rotor screws falling out which mine did once before, but I seen speed and RPM and I had a flash back! Felt I had to share! Ha ha ha! Still the only recorded subaru loyale at drag times. I almost want to start up a poor man's version. But 65mph in a 1/4 mile is respectable I think for a 4banger that's not made for top high speed!
  3. 5spd.. 75mph @3500 RPM downhill.. 60mph @3000 uphill 65mph @3200 flat Last time I remember 87mph @4000 flat.. maxed out on the hwy! Will not go any faster!! Ha ha ha! Here's my test results from about 8 yrs ago...and STILL the only recorded year make and model... flat out accelerator pedal to the floor while shifting speed improved by 3mph ha ha ha! I don't beat it up like I used to.. too good of a car.. Follow Link below... http://www.dragtimes.com/Subaru-Loyale-Timeslip-16326.html
  4. There are 2 capsule plugs .. maybe if previous owner didn't cut them those are for the compressor and the sensor needs reinstalled that will enable the clutch... I would suggest getting a new radiator and a OEM thermostat the AutoZone etc are bad to ise.. they slow the flow.
  5. Plug the green ones together when you set your timing I plug the other whites ones together too... dumb thing is the check engine light is supposed to come one but mine never does at idle... so i take my timing light for a drive with me until it does comes on... Other than that primarily you will notice the timing line move by plugging and unplugging the green one at idle... lol!
  6. My condolences, pray for a miracle, safe return. I keep and eye out here in Portland Oregon rare sighting anywhere anymore...
  7. I always forget about that stupid hole! Lol! I've changed mine a couple times so far when I do a reseal job.. recheck your bolts after some driving too.. they seem to have a way of loosening up.. at least mine did. Plus I changed the PCV positive crankcase valve..
  8. Here's how my story went... still rolling at 287,000 miles i didnt have the option for glass and sand paper... I used a flat 1'x 2 1/2 inch board that over hung the width of the head using various grit paper..- if anything try to get what they call the "Fire ring out as much as possible- http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/155547-my-compression-test-resultsea82/?do=findComment&comment=1332752
  9. I seconded that! Can't take it out can't tighten it anymore!! For years the stupid Allen bolt for draining the coolant from the head continues to drip! Lol! Whatever dude! Whatever!
  10. I was stopped once here in oregon by a state patrol.. and meanwhile we were discussing the current speed of the highway and why apparently I was driving slower than the post speed limit he pointed out my KC Daylighters and inquired about their function and use and that they needed a separate lumitation switch with the covers on while in public streets.. They put their weapons away and let me go about my buisness..
  11. Way to go man.. my buddy would jealous for sure.. I installed 2 Daylighters and he went all out front back.. flashing ambers the whole Sam works! Lol!
  12. I've read everywhere ya got to drill the heads off the security torque screw/star shaped.. and or cut a line across the screw head for a flathead screw driver then replace them with a regular fastener screw when re-installing.. I'm about to get into that rat race myself.. my key is a basically a chewed up then smoothed out popsicle stick.. can barley make out the numbers.. at times it falls out over bumps railroad crossings... I gots the 5spd so I need not kill it; )
  13. Next time i visit that gulldangdammedstupid screw I'm switch it to a Allen Head!! With locktite!! Mine fell out getting up to speed on the freeway.. changed the belts and eVeRyydammed thing while I was there... couldn't get it to fire back up.. stupid thing is I took the cap off 3 times and looked at the rotor but NEVER TURNED IT TO MAKE SURE IT WASN'T SPINNING!! NOOAH!HA HA HA i waited till the 2 coffee and 5th cigarette to do that !Ha ha ha!
  14. Trying not hijack this thread but after all it is a discussion.. I've owned my 93 ea82 loyale 5spd 4x4 wagon for the past 10yrs haven't really done oil changes as recommended probably done about 7 changes and 3 of those just the filter- TOD is normal as always - trying different brands, visocity, addatives, high mileage, oil filter brands fram,wix,etc... I have done the oil pump reseal as well complete re-seal EXCEPT THE SEPARATOR PLATE a couple times..i rebuilt the oil pump all is normal no dummy light, but for some reason on this last oil change and filter, a couple years after sealing and experincing normal TOD.. I am experiencing the TOD more than usual, I've added a little bit of motor honey additive.. still having to top off about a quart a week.. not dripping not burning but using.. 267,000 miles Slightly tripped out on this last oil filter thou I've used wix for the past 3 changes same old TOD but this time I read from the catalog and it States ea81 and nowhere for any year nothing for ea82 for the wix brand filter... interesting? Supposing I'll have to wait for the oil to break down with some splooge and fill the worn out lifters? New cheap oriely's oil is not super great up here in the Pacific Northwest?
  15. Awesome!! I was wondering what's up with the blank.. perhaps it was an owner option back in the day when we had a 27 channel equalizer? Lol! Dude you should post that up in =what have you with your suby lately = !!
  16. Could be leaking from the crossover intake where it joins the cylinder head.. thats where my problem started once before...
  17. Possible fuel pump is failing? Clogged line? Filter? Whereas I would agree with the electrical suggestions..
