  1. If it's due to a clogged radiator, I would think it would get hot even when moving.....so to me it sounds like ther is no air passing throught the rad when sitting still, so it gets hot....once moving the wind blows through the Rad cooling it down...this is why I said to check the fans...
  2. Sounds like the electric fans on th eradiator aren't coming on....maybe a bad relay, or blown fuse...
  3. Rocky will be fine Connie...I have faith in him too:cool: See ya tomorrow!!!
  4. Princess will be fine Dave, I have faith in her;) I know you already know, but make sure the TC is fully seated, before you drop it back in:eek: See you tomorrow afternoon!!!!
  5. He should follow the Escort then...so it can clear out the deer No great loss if an Escourt gets crumpled:grin:
  6. Yep, it'd be cool to get some more from that side of the country at the meet....
  7. I like this "Play by play" of Rob's Trek across the continent....I'll be closely watching for the updates:banana:
  8. Sounds good Connie...I sent Rob my phone numbers, hope he took them with him... in case he breaks down in my neck of the woods...
  9. who needs a stinken rollcage? ....So show up at the Dragon this weekend.....
  10. That it has...it being later in the year has made it seem like such a long time since last years meet.....but thankfull it is nearly here:headbang:
  11. Or heck, just drive it with the bad boot, if it gets bad, we can always change it out at the meet.
  12. You could pull an axle out of the RS to install in the SVX, just bring the bad axle with you, so you can use it as a core up here somewhere to pick up a new axle.
  13. I just need to cut the roof off FrankenWedge to offset the extra weight of the EG33:grin: ....mmmm...EG33 powered Convertable XT6...mmmm:banana:
  14. That's what I was thinking.... All 4 axles on FrankenWedge have split boots currently....but I'm driving it anyway:eek: And Steve, I've got that 15" spare, I'll have it with me for you. Huck
  15. When we go into Robinsville, we can get some "road shots" Christian got some last year (but he never posted them for us:rolleyes: ....) anyway...we can make it happen.... I think we were going to do a Cherahola <sp?> and Dragon run after lunch on Sat...so that should be around 2:00....Nick has the itenerary....but I haven't seen him post on here.... 16. Specs call out a stock ea82 5-speed as 2,455 and the XT6 5-speed at 2,885....which is a lot lighter than a stock WRX, plus it's got a MUCH lower CD of 0.29 than an Impreza...which is Vette territory:headbang:
  17. OK, I'm here....I'm just a little slow lately.... And Crazy, you Will get to ride in FrankenWedge this weekend...I still don't have a good clutch in it, but it still ROCKS..... I think the ER27 is a great engine.. mine ran fine right up till I pulled it to install the EG33...I just wanted a monster, so FrankenWedge was born... I've been thinking about building a EJ18 powered XT, for a daily driver, as I think it'd be the perfect driver...great milege with the .29 CD and the 110HP EJ18....ought to get around 40 mpg on the highway...and that's as much HP as a stock EA82T...., but no waiting for th eturbo to spool up... Just some thoughts... And Connie, I have FrankenWedge's old coil in my trunk, you can have it as a spare since I don't have anything it'll work on now....
  18. We'll be leaving from Somerset, sometime Friday morning. As of right now, we will have the following in our little caravan... 1) Alex (and Sommer)in his new 4.44 SVX 2) Carol (And Kelly) in my Yellow SVX (RWD 5-Speed) 3) Huck (and Jessica) in FrankenWedge Jim, I don't think Alex has a room yet, so if no one else can swing it, he'll probably be game.....and let me know if you'll be trying to meet up with us, for the drive down. We'd like to get there early afternoon. Gave FrankenWedge a bath tonight, and will wash the SVX tomorrow. Got some of the stuff packed up.... I can hardly wait to see everyone again, and meet some new faces....the Dragon Meet is always the highlight of my year. Don't forget to bring FRS radio's if you have them, I think we'll be running channel 16 this year. See everyone there....drive safe. Huck Creator of FrankenWedge
  19. Connie, I just had another thought...when Rocky was spraying antifreeze, it could have gotten in the distributer cap, which would cause the miss.... Just a late thought... (and all 4 of FrankenWedges axles need replacing...and his clutch....but he WILL be at the Dragon)
  20. It's looking Good Connie..... (and I like a tease:grin: ) Huck Creator of FrankenWedge
  21. It's definitly not in a very good place, and is only held in place by the wires attaced to it, but it's been in for about 9 months now and is still working fine....(knocking on wood right now:rolleyes: )
  22. I had this same issue with the temp gauge on FrankenWedge (My EG33 powered XT6:grin: )... The EG33's temp sensor is "Tiny" so no way to plumb in a ER/EA series one in the same location. I was going to plumb the ER one into the heater hose line, but instead added a Potentiometer in line with the gauge wire, one leg to ground and one leg to the sender and one leg to the gauge, then used a laser termometer to check the temp of the motor against the one in my SVX and "Dialed" it in so the gauge read middle of the gauge when it is at operating temp. SO if it getts hot it shows up, it's a little in-accurate when it's warming up, but once it gets warmed up seems to work fairly well. Total cost....about $3.00 Hope this helps someone else...
