Fuel pumps, what brand do you trust?
Sup folks Just recently started to hear that rhythmic tapping of a fuel pump on its way out. Personally I've never had a problem with Import Direct pumps but those were non-subis. I hate electrics for this reason, some brands get it right others don't and can vary in quality from make and model. So whos good?

1994 EA82 idle
Make sure your throttle cable has slack, tension will leave it open and not sit on the idle screw

TallonX replied to TallonX's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHe doesn't go cheap when it comes to maintaining his rigs, fluids got changed in Nov changed again just a few days ago Seems to me that an oring might be cracked on cyls 1 and 4 injectors, acting like it's loading up at an idle

Coil 97 Outback
Buddy's rig helping him out anyways... Transition year coil Looking at the harness and coil comparatively, the red and yellow wires are swapped on the coil, should I repin it to the harness? Ran across this sort of thing several times before with aftermarket parts on other makes and proper thing was to repin it to the harness. Subarus any different?

Confirming rear lift height
From my understanding accord springs with 2wd struts will yield 4" of lift for the rear probably more. Can I get confirmation on this number?

Unusual Temp Fixes To Get You Home
Oh let's see... On my Subaru... Inside belt v-belt broke took the outer with it in bfe, wrapped electrical tape in the groove for the water pump and main pulley a few times, drove AT SPEED (3k) for 45 miles held just fine Samurai... Similar situation but the ear mount broke off the water pump for the alternator, used hair ties to run the water pump in that case it lasted the 30 miles I needed it to F250... Blew out the upper tank on the rad, bent everything back to position, using what I had in the truck, bailing wire and mighty putty in this case, pressed as much mighty putty in to where the brazing fail, locked the tank down to the core with the bailing wire, continued to drive it like that for 3 years my daily driver at the time
