Toe was probably scrubbing.. Struts will hammer tires and cause flat spots and cupping. Garbage tires will also wear if defective

cool the tap cutters with a cold wet rag though. If you get it too hot the metallurgy will change and then the tap will actually twist. If it's a cheap tap it might do that anyway... You should be able to mig it solid enough without getting it too hot

<p>I don't think that it really matters TBH. They both will have different part numbers between manual OBS and Manual Forester most likely. However the Forester axles are likely to work in your OBS just fine. The Forester 4.11 trans is the same one used in the RS.</p>

If your going to get a portable, get the biggest portable that you can. Do not consider anything that is oil less or oil free.

 

If your looking for larger, get a 2 stage pump. Tank size does not matter as much as getting the best pump you possibly can

 

The Harbor Freight unit, although some will look down on it just because it is from HF, is actually Very good and isn't actually made by one of their regular offshore suppliers.. The Compressor itself is made by Bel-Air and has a tank made in Virginia, the pump is a quality unit from France and the Motor IIRC is actually Baldor.. This unit cost $499 up until a couple years ago but at $800 it is still a deal.

EJ251, EJ252 or early EJ253 or even an EJ253 up to 2004. Swap cam and crank sensors. Cheap way out is a JDM EJ20 engine. EJ201/202/203 swap cam and crank sensors and use USDM intake. Very simple swap

If you do not need AWD. I would shoehorn a Toyota/ Lexus 1UZ-FE 4.0L V8 in there. They weigh 364 lbs, make 250hp with room to grow ( cams ) and are among the most compact V8 you can get. Also, being 32v DOHC they are pretty far advanced. They are also dirt cheap. You could couple it to an R154, or W58 trans, or even a Toyota truck transmission

 

If you need AWD, then a Subaru H6 is about where it is at for N/A. They all make 230-250hp but actually weigh more than the Toyota V8

It has to be the transmission then. A weird failure. When you put selectors in anything but drive, it holds the gears differently than in drive.

It does not matter, the trans is the same between them. Or close enough that it will not matter. Subaru DID have a sport shift mode in Japan. As far as I know it's a TCU function. It's doubtful that's your issue, but you could try another TCU. 2000-2002 Outback/ Forester should work

Newer Forester/ Outback are 5x114.3 to my knowladge and STI is 2005 and newer. You can get OEM Steelies at the dealer if you want brand new. Many models were/ are sold with 16" steelies as a base option

Never compared a '96 coil to '97+. I know the connectors are different, and I know that the EJ25D coils are larger bolt pattern than  -'96 EJ22E but they are electrically the same. You can match the colors to the connector and swap them..

'99+ phase 2 coils can work but not out of the box so to speak. Their ignitor is built in and takes a bit to make them work. I know enough to know it works, but know nothing about the conversion

the odometers are actually simple computers that are programmable. In normal cases, they are usually programmed automatically in sequence in succession of the miles or kilometers driven.. They can be hacked with home made cables and simple programs though. If you can't verify the odometer, then just feel the car out completely

If both '95 use the intake that comes with the new engine. It will be EGR that you don't need. Unplug the EGR connector and it won't know any different. That saves blocking anything

I'd never pay $1,100 for it. Brake lines don't bother me but I'm from NY... That is an Outback trim car so EJ25D if stock. Just not worth it

Yeah, so an EJ20G would run on your factory ECU but an EJ25D ECU ( probably from a '97-'98 Outback would be best )  would have a better rev limit and base tune. Then just use a Greddy Emanage blue for final tuning.. You will need a turbo front crossmember

You can use the EJ208 with a single turbo manifold/ header and blocking off the drivers head oil passages.. EJ208 is a bit better than an EJ205 but less than EJ207.

 

Now if your car is a phase 1 then get an EJ20G or STI EJ20K. They are less expensive ( single turbo ) and electrically the same as USDM phase 1. You can use something like an Emanage blue to tune a stock harness/ ECU. It's not perfect but it works

Set of Douglas All Season from Walmart will run around $70 each installed without taxes. That is for any of the common Subaru 15/16" sizes. Buy your valve stems in the flat repair section at Walmart since it's cheaper that way and give them to them to install.

Should be able to use Impreza. All of this stuff is interchangeable in mounting, you just have to find the right stuff to match what you need. Even '95-99 Legacy should work, you would at the very most have to use all of the parts that bolt to the cradle in yours

I had a tech at the shop make that mistake on nearly the same car and the car actually left. He dropped the trans fluid and changed the trans filter ( same thread ironically ).. They came back because the oil was never changed. It was definitely slipping when it came in, but once it was filled back up with the proper filter, it was ok and drove fine.. We still have an open ins claim on that car just in case though

I doubt it needs to come from an RS, since in 2005 that package did not equate to much. Basically WRX front fascia and special RS floormats.  and they were all 2.5L SOHC. Car-part.com is littered with them cheap. $25-75

Yes, EJ201/202/203 are all pretty much direct swaps once you swap the cam/ crank gears and the intake. The EJ203 is rated the highest HP of them all although I don't think there is much difference between them.
