'82 Brat Swaybar?
i haven't driven without one. but a lot of people here have, mostly to squeeze a little benefit out of driving off road. When somebody asked why I ran the swaybar on my lifted hatch instead of going without, my answer was that i was afraid of a bad handling car handling even worse. Now that I've driven it around for a while I realize this car so rarely breaks 55 miles per hour that it probably wouldn't matter much. The bottom line is there is nothing wrong with taking it off and seeing how you like it without. Lots of folks here have, and the wheels don't fall off. I don't think doing so will buy enough articulation to damage you cv joints.

Hatch Louvres!
I bought these off McBrat several years ago. He has doubted if I would ever get around to using them. They make a great car look greater. Have never seen pics posted of these on a car before, so here ya go

I would like to extend this offer- I have a good navy interior for hatchback, a couple sets of navy carpet, would trade for good dark grey or black

Let's talk about GEN 2 Interior colors
thanks for posting the grey interior. that is the darker grey that i like and would consider for my hatch. The original DL interior for my hatch was a lighter grey that I didn't like. I am still intrigued by the notion of a black interior, which with the above mentioned hatch has been mentioned here a couple times. Please anyone with a gen 2 black interior please post a pic if you can, I do not recall ever seeing one. as I mentioned I am considering painting all the hard plastic pieces as well as my dash. I wonder what the seats looked like that went with a black interior. Of course I can use or make seat covers. Has anyone ever dyed carpet?

one fender spray paint, the other I don't know, I'll match it up to my silver '79 and see if it looks right. cowel is GOLD. Valence off of a 4wd wagon I think- but whats the difference? maybe 4wd receives a skid plate?

Headlight suggestions?
I have had the silverstars in (two different) 1980 hatches for years. I am not trying to argue. 80 and 81 subarus have unique and nearly identicle wiring. If I were the OP, I would try the silverstars, as they are readily available, plug and play, and VERY noticably brighter. I would do this before I would go messing with the wiring. That is my advice.

Help needed on replacing the heater hose lines on my 1983 GL Wagon?
no you don't need to remove the dash to do what you want to do. The heater core is not where you stated you think it is. It is basically right in front of your gear shifter, between the fire wall and your radio console. You should be able to see the in/out water lines on the watercock somewhere to the right of your gas pedal. If you end up replacing the heater core, you will need to remove the dash, and it is a pretty big pain in the arse, but is doable

I need a front 2 inch lift kit.A full set of Peugeot 15 alloy lug nuts and a good gas filler tubefor a 1989 gl sw . Then my subaru is done!
on the lugnuts- they are hard to find, as an alternative you can buy ball seat adaptors online for dirt cheap and use them with the stock soobie lugnuts. I have used them with no issues, as have others here. However i can not find the link to the website i bout mine off of. And just to be clear, I used them with the same 15" pug alloys that is in your avatar.
- hot rodded ea81 is trans. strong enough?

Do I Need to Adjust the Valves?!?!
It is different from the solid lifter valve adjustment. Here is the procedure from " how to keep your subaru alive". You should be able to download this and zoom in and read just fine, if not let me know. I would think the builder did this, but I dunno. Let us know how this goes, I have never done it.

Let's talk about GEN 2 Interior colors
one question bratrod- was that interior pieced together? looks like a couple different shades of brown on the dash/console

Let's talk about GEN 2 Interior colors
yeah thats what I meant by dark mustard. I only recall seeing that color in 80-82 cars, I have had two with that interior, both 80 hatchbacks, one a white dl and one a pale yellow 4wd STD. It's not my favorite, but I guess it's cool in a retro way. definately dated looking. That one is particularly clean Bratrod. I have a clean dash that color that I pulled from a 81 white gl wagon. that's the one I am going to paint. Thanks for posting. Did you get my pm about the bushings you were looking for?
