My 92 loyal 4X4 conversion question
angerthis replied to angerthis's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Okay I figured out the backup lights got those working Believe it or not the front wheel drive transmission harness worked on the four-wheel-drive transmission sending unit as in just for the sending unit for the back up lights So that was a relatively easy fix for backup lights I have not hooked up the 4 wheel drive lights for the dash and I don't think I'm going to cuz I really don't care if it has the dummy lights on the dash for the 4 wheel drive because its kinda obvious you know when its in 4 wheel drive with a dual range transmission the positioning of the shifter is good enough for me -
Eliminating the EGR will it cause my check engine light to come on? because the code that keeps coming up says its the EGR solenoid Or is it just the solenoid That may be no good Oh yeah I'm working on a 92 loyal The one I did the 4 wheel drive conversion on if you read that thread The picture I included is obviously where the EGR used to be

Got to try out the four wheel drive The four wheel drive conversion work perfectly -
If there is a hole in the block your engine is done and if its just a hole in the cylinder head you can replace just the head and whatever other parts that broke and be good to go but it sounds to me like you had an oiling issue and it threw a rod and if that was the case you can just find another 1.8 block and use your heads and everything else on that engine block

My 92 loyal 4X4 conversion question
angerthis replied to angerthis's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
thank you that's what I was needing to know something so easy that makes sense I might be able to figure this one out thank you Cuz I do know my 86 rx 4 wheel drive shifter has the little button for the low light on the dash to come on But the transmission that I'm using in my loyal is Out of an 87 GL sedan and it does not have the same switches as my RX for the 4WD low light to come on so I do have a multimeter I will check it out and get back to you thank you -

Ok you all scene my add with my four by four conversion Was needing to know On my dual range transmission What sending unit is for the reverse lights, What sending unit is for the 4 wheel drive light, And I assume the other sending unit would be for the 4 wheel drive with low light Not sure exactly but I assume that's what it is. Can any of you tell me which one is which Can't quite get my words out in writing So if any of this does not make any sense please let me know and I can try to explain it better Because I am trying to get my reverse lights to work and maybe figure out to get the 4 wheel drive light to work on the dash Cuz obviously going from a front wheel drive car to the dual range 4 wheel drive Transmission None of the plugs are the same so i just gotta figure it out and wire them in

Here are some better pictures of the car more complete -
Yeah just use the blue loctite not the red I just dealt with the same thing with my 92 loyal But the best thing I found is to locate a EA82 turbo crank pulley because it's got a little dowel that also hold it in place it weighs slightly more but it's not enough to really make a difference but always remember use the blue loctite not the red

I'm not sure if it will be ready by this next weekend I think I'd have to bring my 4 door sedan rx It's got the good tires And the LSD to make it up the snowy hills If the pocketbook lets me I'll be there -
I am building a 92 Subaru Loyale originally a front wheel drive car it is now dual range 4 wheel drive You can check out my Craigslist ad I will post more pictures later as I go along The things that I have done is rear disc brake conversion A dual range four wheel drive transmission With matching rear end I have completely gone through the engine its all fresh new gaskets looks good And I will have here shortly a set of aluminum saw blade 13 inch wheels to go on it tire size 185/80R13 The interior is in immaculate condition Just thought I'd start showing the work that I have done to it The first two pictures of the car are of it when it was still front wheel drive the very last picture of it is with the four wheel drive suspension on it The grey Subaru rx is my daily driver http://bellingham.craigslist.org/cto/4784192932.html

'93 Loyale Sedan rear coilovers
angerthis replied to Sandrion's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Just go to the wrecking yard And get yourself a set of 92 or so Honda Accord front struts take the springs off those struts cut Two and a Half Quiels off or what everit takes to get them to go on your factory rear struts it's not hard at all you can rent the tool from your local auto parts store so you can remove the coil spring safely -
The best way to put the torque converter back in Is to pull that long shaft out of the transmission There is a little metal clip that has to connect the shaft to the torque converter and then you put the shaft and torque converter in all as one unit than tern it like one full turn if that it will go right into place
