  1. ok. Since I just changed my filter hopefully I won't run into that noise anymore
  2. It has a few times had a clicking. A couple times on early morning old starts, and once when the oil level got to the low level on the dip stick
  3. I will keep an eye on thing in my next oil change and get an analysis done as well just to make me feel better about the whole thing. No loss of oil pressure that I know of No gold flakes either, the really metallic ones were grey or silver in color
  4. Sorry, forgot the vitals. 1995 Subaru Legacy, ej22. About 190,000. I have a slow oil leak, add half a quart to a quart between changes. I check the levels regularly. There was some lifter noise when the oil got a little on the low side of the dip stick. No head gaskets or major work done recently.
  5. The second pic is of a bigger piece that I squeezed. I've never noticed these things in my oil before. Thanks for looking
  6. I think I found some metal shavings in my used motor oil today. I'm assuming this is a bad thing, but to what degree? Oil is changed regularly, every month and half to two months. This is about the time it took me to get to 3,000 miles. My speedo isn't working consistently anymore so my odometer is off. I couldn't get them to stick to a magnet. A couple little pieces almost looked clear like glass, some metallic and some white (plastic shavings from my oil filter being scraped by my wrench possibly?)
  7. Ngk plugs and ngk wires are reccomended. I've had good luck so far with my car quest wires though
  8. Any suggestions on getting the oil off the underside? Jack up the front and then spray is the only thing I can think of. Some simple green on there too?
  9. Here in North Carolina we have county taxes like this. Sales tax and yearly property tax. I live on the county line and occasionally have two counties try and get a piece
  10. What does everybody think about a engine oil stop leak like the one made by Lucas oil. It was reccomended to me before by a mechanic. That being said he got fired for some reason and that shop never did get my subaru running after taking it there 4 times.
  11. Going to get to get this done sometime over the couple of days. Thanks
  12. It's a 95 legacy ej22. I replaced the pcv valve two weeks ago along with the parts you sent me. I did notice a bit of fresh looking oil in and around the bottom of the hose going into the block from the y connector the pcv connects into. All the air hoses are new as well. I believe I am about 30,000 miles since last timing job, though that was before I had the car Valve gaskets were done about 4-5 years ago. I have quite a bit of handwritten records that are a bit hard to read. I will keep an eye on the oil level, for now it is up above the full line I will get the engine cleaned up a bit and get some more pictures in the next couple days.
  13. Also a slow oil drip coming from here. It's coming from the raised side (drivers), the opposite of the drain plug. I checked the oil level and it seems high. Last change got done at the AAA, they had a good deal going on...Possibly to much oil got put in? I'm going to do an oil change this week myself.
  14. While looking around under my car when I was doing my brakes I noticed a few things and was wondering what you thought
  15. Ok I will pop it off again and lube it up. Thanks for the advice. I ended up not replacing the drivers side rotor, as the pads were not wore down much at all. Still a good ways from metal on metal and the rotor wasn't scratched at all. So I put new pads on and the test drive went well. No more grinding sound and the car stops well after I followed the break in instructions that came with the pads
  16. Talking about the pin that holds the caliper together? Lower pin got lubed, upper pin I did not. Boot seemed uncracked and ok so I did not want to mess with it. Should I try and slide it out?
  17. I got the passangerside rotor and pad done, it's pretty dark now so I will get the other tomorrow. Here is a picture of my pads. Seems the inside pad has a lot left to it and the outside pad is all but gone. The caliper piston moved without much trouble. Is this something I should worry about? Some trouble with caliper?
