  1. Is there any running water around your place Shady? Like a creek or river? -Brian
  2. Yeah, bad idea. CV's wont like it, and not sure how your going to keep the tranny dropped 2.5" with the motor in stock location. I would just install the lift as intended. -Brian
  3. Holy cow... what a blast from the past!! This was so long ago, i wasnt even known as the subaru junkie yet! -Brian
  4. Isn't Rallitek based out of Portland? I wouldnt mind a Portland WCSS, as long as its not in a parking lot. Its hard to sleep in a tent on asphalt. It is still really early tho. Shouldnt we wait till after the new year to start planning the next show? -Brian
  5. HAHAHAHA, dave are you talking about your old honda? Didnt think you still had it. How cheap are we talkin? -Brian
  6. Okay, anyone want a RX to do a EJ swap on? Im entertaining offers, just PM Me. I think im going to look for a Legacy, get my EJ22 swap the easy way. I dont have time to deal with a swap and bar and carb and ca and everything else... right now Im in need of a way to get to work and home. Maybe a good huffy is in order. -Brian
  7. Lets just hope there is a WCSS8. I could understand why the previous years event organizers would choose not to organize another one. Would be a shame however, seeing as how each years has been getting more and more popular within the last few years. -Brian
  8. Yeah, Subieman has a carbbed EA82 in Reno he said I could get. I was thinking of going that way, but Im not sure if I wanna stick with stock boost. Not even sure if I want a turbo car anymore... -Brian
  9. No pictures just yet, I have to find a way to push the car up my driveway into my garage. Then I can start dismantling it. The junkyards here haven't had a EA82T in their yard for a while. But Im thinking of taking another trip out there next weekend. -Brian
  10. Man that looked like a ton of fun. I wish I would have made it up there! I think my next attempt to make it will be by hitchhiking... that way i have a better chance of making it. -Brian
  11. Ok Eddy... you prove me wrong. But IM not going to spend months to do a EJ conversion, just to find out it wont ever pass smog again and is useless. I have a buddy that did a EJ22 to a EJ22T conversion, and he said that was a huge pain in the rump roast to get CARB'd. That, and I dont have much time to figure something out. I think Tizzle has got it tho... this is a chance to start over. Im thinking maybe a carbbed block, gen3 heads... this should give me a chance to rebuild a EA82T and get the RX running the way it should. However, that is going to take a while. Weeks, maybe a month or so... and that just time I dont have. -Brian
  12. Nope. But the computer he punches all the info into will. -Brian
  13. Not in California The RX would have had to been offered with a 2.2 in order for the swap to be smogable. -Brian
  14. Yeah, its a miracle! On my way to reno today the 3# piston decided to go. Im thinking it was the crank bearing 1st, then the rest to follow. That baseball sized hole in my block is going to cause some problems with my PCV system isnt it? -Brian
  15. The compressor I have wont work for my puegeot rims. But should work for all the stock subie guys. -Brian
  16. Take out one spark plug... Rotate the engine (using the breaker bar on the crank pulley) until that piston (doesnt matter which one you use) is at Bottom Dead Center. Then find a length of rope, some good rope, and start to feed it into the combustion chamber through the spark plug hole. Shouldnt take much rope, depending on how thick it is, but leave enough exposed so you can remove the rope later. Now with a good amount of rope in the combustion chamber, continue to rotate the engine by hand until that piston tries to compress the rope inside the chamber. It will become locked and you should be able to break loose the bolt holding the pulley on. This method should also work well on your spare engine -Brian
  17. Had to do it on my lunch break, so no trips to the dealer for me. Had to use Fram :\ -Brian
  18. Well drove to Kragen to get a new PCV valve.... got the car under boost a few times and no signs of oil burning (well, not as severe as this morning). When i returned to work i replaced the valve. The old valve still moved when shook, and sounded ok... but its been replaced as a precaution. The area directly under the PCV valve was covered in oil, and there was oil everywhere around the area. I noticed the hose comming from the valve was ovalled and wasnt fitting too snug.... so i replaced the lame stock hose clamp with a real screw type clamp. *KNOCK ON WOOD* lets hope that does some good. -Brian
  19. Ive got a GPS device too i could bring along. BigBlue... the only guys with lifts are gonna be me and Jibs The rest of y'all need to bring a tow rope just kidding... ... I have one :-p -Brian
  20. Jeremy... bring a subie that already has bad fenders... and then no loss will be gained -Brian
  21. I have a portable compressor. I will also be driving straight to Jibs house, the shell station is a good meeting place, i need gas in the wagon anyhow. Today on the way to work my RX was burning oil REALLY bad I dont think its severe like a piston or rings... but i hope I can figure it out before 7am tomorrow. -Brian
  22. No more intercooler. Everything is bone stock. Stock intake plentum, no bypass valve, no boost controller. Stock VF5 is peaking at 7psi, at least i hope it is. Last time this happend I turned around from the road trip I was on... came home, and put a new turbo in. Im thinking, hoping, its my PCV valve.... im gonna replace it on my lunch break and hope to god it fixes it. -Brian
  23. So on my way to work this morning... I was thinking to myself "wow, the RX sure is running great this morning. Hope it acts this way all weekend so I can drive to Reno tomorrow". And sure enough, as soon as I said that the car started to sputter. I was cruising in 5th gear, so it wasnt really that noticable, so to verify I floored it. I have no boost gauge, so I dont know how much boost my turbo was making, but everytime the boost light was on my car would sputter and in the rear view all i could see was a plume of blue smoke. About a block from work it quit doing it. WTF!?!?
  24. Im going to try to be on the road out of town by 7:30-8a at the latest. If all goes well with the RX that will put me at Jibs place around 10-10:30. Depending on traffic, construction, a sudden weekend snow storm... etc.. We should be able to get a fair amount of wheelin in before it gets too cold out. I know JB will be hating the drive home if we had to do it in the dark Dave, if we have enough time we might be able to start pulling stuff. I wanna try to get on the road to be home by 7pm, which means leaving Reno around 4:30-5. -Brian
  25. Ok then it shouldnt be effecting this problem then, i hope. I removed the bolt and replaced it with a new one. I didnt have any teflon tape so i used electrical tape, which didnt work out well at all. Anyhow, problem didnt change at all. What are some components that are only effected when engine temps warm up? -Brian
