  1. Yeah, but if you remove the bearings, you will damage them. Try to repack them with them still in the hub. If you remove them from the hub, then you might as well get new ones cause chances are they'll be destroyed. -Brian
  2. I vote to get rid of dancing banana's across the world. -Brian
  3. well, if you remove the bearings, you need to install new ones again. I would recommend dissasembling it, remove the rotor and brake stuff, remove the CV, remove the seals and keep the bearings in place. Examine the grease and see if its already broken down. Not sure if it would be wise to clean the grease out, or put new grease in, but if you are truly worried i would tear it down and inspect them. Or wait until the bearings go bad, and do it again with more care. -Brian
  4. Hrm.... things will get hot. Remember, you have a disc right there that is generating alot of heat, so all the heat you feel might not be all from the bearings. Also, pack those bearings good. Take a fistful of grease, and start slapping the bearings into your palm full of grease. Make sure you get as much grease into those suckers as possible. -Brian
  5. Its either Photoshopped, or its a custom. regardless, its not production. I vote for PhotoShop. -Brian
  6. Looks like it has the rear part from a Gen1 brat behind the window. Would be cool to do this with a Gen1 brat because they have larger doors. If you were to convert a wagon to 2door, you'd prolly want larger doors to fill the body. -Brian
  7. Dude, Erik... that looks SWEEEEEEET! Makes me want to go get that 78 Wagon and chop it, drop it and make it look mean -Brian
  8. Yeah, the 155 is the width of the tire in MM. If you have, say for example, 155/70R13 the width of the tread pattern is 155mm, the hight from rim to the edge of the tire is 70% of 155mm and of course, R13 is the rim size. So, you can have 175 and 155 series tires of the same hieght, just depending on the percentage. Im in dire need of tires. I think im going to put that as priority 1 for my brat. Then the engine, then i suppose I can worry about rally tires. Sorry to lead you on. Those tires look like they were nice when they were new, and those rims... damn those are some pretty rims. *sigh* -Brian
  9. Yeah, if i get them, they will be rally tires. Painted gloss black to use on the brat when i enter the rally curcuit. Gotta build the engine 1st, but hell.... why not have studded snow tires as rally tires? -Brian
  10. Screw it, toss it in the brat. A $900 isnt going to be a mint brat. and even tho they are rare, its a utility vehicle that should be used as one. My car is near mint. Few dings, but you dont see me crying when i toss my tool box in the back. Get line-x or something to protect it. But anyhow, case is... if you need a vehicle to do some work, and you are a member of the USMB, then you know the kind of answer your going to get from me. To answer your original question that you posted in your 1st thread. You should have no trouble hauling tree's (get the small ones, they will grow later) and landscaping material. Plywood should not be a problem, the store will give you red ribbon to tie around anything that sticks out of your bed. But pay to have the large stuff delivered, dont pay for another vehicle you have to register and maintain.... unless its a brat -Brian
  11. yeeeks. Might be second thinking the whole thing. I need tires more than rims. Although ive had my heart set on that type of rim, i have a set of alloys on the brat right now that i would hate to remove. And... if the tires are 155... hrm, wow... Can you get more pix of the rims with tires? Maybe a pic from top, side, as many angles as you can muster up. i might have jumped too soon Studs dont bother me. ive destudded a set of tires with a leatherman and 8 hours of my spare time when i lived in alaska. -Brian
  12. Ok, we need to something about these stupid icons. What does a dancing banana have to do with a Subaru Brat. And like i said before, dont haul bricks and plywood with your brat. Pay Home Depot to deliver it. You can go spend $2000 on a beater chevy, haul everything you want, pay $60 for a tank of gas every time you want to haul something, and have a ugly, rusting, beater chevy parked out front with your 4 Subarus (and yes, Jeremy has 4 Subarus). OR, you can pay $20 or $30 to have Home Depot deliver it to your door. Spend $900 (i remember you saying you found a $900 brat Jeremy) and use the brat to haul the smaller stuff like plants, fertalizer, paint, tools, hardware. Spend $20 for a tank of gas, and have a BRAT to park next to your other sweet rump roast subaru's. Doesnt seem logical to me... to spend money on a truck, if all your going to do is haul equipment... unless you are a contractor. -Brian Oh, and P.S. notice how i have no stupid banana's
  13. Mike, feel like a trip to Sac? Hehehe GD, are you sure you dont wanna ship? Name a price. if the tires are good, i will be willing to pay for your time and shipping. My brat is in dire need of tires. And those rims would look good on my roomates wagon. -Brian
  14. Oh, and P.S. I will be tracking this thread. So if anyone has any trouble, it might be faster to reply to this thread. -Brian
  15. Oh wait... duh. it sais right there... your in portland! I love this new board. Anyhow. Your only a 12hour drive from me. -Brian
  16. ME ME ME!! Except, im in sacramento. Not sure what they are worth. I can get a complete set of steels from the Junkyard for $45 after tax. I'll offer $80 for the complete set with the tires. Where are you located, might be able to drive up there. -Brian
  17. I think that is a Les Shwab special. Adam NDJ has a set, and i want them Hehehe Also, I have a subaru brochure with a subaru with a set that looks exactly like that. But from what ive heard, with the red and blue stripe, its a les shwab brand. -Brian
  18. http://repair.usmb.net/usrm/ looks alot like the other USRM doesnt it!? Its the same software, but its a completely different page. This page is setup for the normal USMB user's, so they can submit any information they have. In order to upload files, click on MANAGE. Use the email address: usrm@usmb.net the password is: usrm All Lowercase. Enter the main folder and create a new folder, title it with your article name, and as the description, put only your USMB nickname. This application will let you upload almost any file type. From Text documents to images, from .zip files to webpages. Please upload only information pertaining to your article, in each folder. If you have multiple articles, create multiple folders. The USRM moderators will use this as a submission forum, so we can gather data and add it to the real USRM. All credit will be given to the USMB nickname provided in the folder description. If anybody is having any trouble at all, do not hesitate to send an email to USRM@Subaru4wd.net. -Brian
  19. Get a brat and use it to haul plants and other small stuff. Have the heavy things delivered for you. Home Depot offers delivery. No need to buy a truck just to haul a couple loads of plywood. Spend $60 and have it delivered, then go buy that $900 brat you saw in the paper for the small stuff! That way, you can finally lift your hatch and give the Legacy to your woman -Brian
  20. Patrick, we will have our turn Lets see how the experts handle the trail 1st. -Brian
  21. What would happen if we used EA81T injectors. Or aftermarket injectors that will fit inside the EA81T heads?? WRX1AB, not sure if anyone remembers him, but he had to replace 2 of his injectors on his EA81T and he used some injectors from a Kawasaki Ninja. The EA81T heads are so rare, if I dont want to shave them then I sure dont want to modify the injector boss's. -Brian
  22. Yeah, my CIS will most likely be mounted where you have yours. In the spare tire area. Im also going to rig a air filter box that will fit snug against the hood, and i'll have a hood scoop to feed it. Will i still need fuel injection holders even tho the EA81T heads are MPFI and already have the FI boss's? -Brian
  23. John C, SilverShadow gets all the credit for getting this board up and running. Shawn and I did provide a helping hand, but nobody other than John sat up until 5am for the last 2 weeks tweaking bugs, testing, tweaking and testing. One thing we overlooked the whole time was donations. Either of you get that taken care of? Shawn? John? -Brian
