  8. I just weld up the spiders and go wheelin, on my first wheeler I tried a dunebuggy cutter brakes like these right idea but needs more force then I could give by hand
  9. the body on the gen1 EJ is only about 1" wider then the EA82
  10. so you got time to burn on a offroader? Im in bellingham can help out at my shop I like choppin parts off cars with a sawZall and M serios about making a fiberglass kit to convert the old subarus into a road legal buggy , my choice would be the EA82 wagon or the gen1 legacy wagon just because they are so plentiful and cheep the EJ would need outback or forester struts
  11. I think your right on using the EJ platform as theres more or them and they have the better engine, just need to remove a bunch of weight zzzzzzzzz
  12. lets do it, if you make one I could make a one piece fiberglass nose that would be hood fenders and grill all hooked with clearence for tires, I would use a wagon and cut the whole back off up to the gas tank and we could make a one piece rear section out of fiberglass, I live just over the line we could do it in a weekend
  13. got the coupe goin now to go wheelin , who wants to go?
  14. I wont be there, just to lang badrive, but I may be at Walker Valley ORV park

  17. heres the cam # upper hose I got these at rileys you can see the # it also fits a 93-97 chrysler/dodge 3.3 v-6 concord and Intrepid lower hose lower hose fits a 91 BMW M3 lower , I trimmed 3" off the top end these hoses have 1 end smll for the rad and one end big for the EJ I ran the car today it goes nicely good combination regular hotrod , just have to get the mouse smell out they moved in since the car sat these last 4 months
  18. weak point with the subaru is your rear axle setup the sidekick will have a stronger axle and you can buy a locker the ea81 is the weakest ea82 axles and stub shafts will break with a locker newer gen stuff is stronger
  19. go with a EA82 body (85-88 will have the dual range) do a EJ swap and install Delta low torx cams 4" lift 27-30" tires redrilled chevy wheels
  20. on all my wheelers with a ej22 ive used the old ea82 4x4 parts, only failure ive had was operate error, you learn to luge it or spin the tires. dont slip the clutch
  21. it should work,
  22. Delta Low Tork cams ,in the pic the top one is the stock one, delta regrinds the stock cam to give it a new profile, these ones give it more low speed power where you need it for offroad, I used no smoke thick oil for the assembly lube, I made that cam sprocket spanner wrench as the bolts wouldnt budge with my impact wrench, its almost done finish it up tomorow then hit the trails, the mice moved in and left nut shells in the bellhousing
