  2. i wish i knew this when i had the SS legacy, that was a great car, but a gas guzzler
  3. 90% highway and 10% city, yup now i get -/+ 29mpg at 65-70 mpg, like i said i'm at 220 miles at half of tank. amazing. well my wallet is loving it.
  4. hey Carl yes i did not mention it but i did, i just plugged in my scanner and reset the ECU. that may be it i'm already on the second tank and same results 220 miles with half of tank!
  5. nahh not really, its working already, i had the best mileage ever on my last tank, 410 miles! i used to get tops 270 per tank
  6. hehe the driver should lose some weight! lol well here are some partial results on the mileage on the first tank. well it was 410 miles at almost at Empty mark and i filled it up with 14 gallons of gas, thats 29+mpg!!!!!!!! i got an extra 6mpg! it definetely pulls harder and it is smoother. all this with just 3oz of acetone. welli am on the second tank of gas and i'll keep you all posted Neo
  7. well as everybody knows the gas prices are a little steep, so i was doing some research for a alternative fuel ideas for my subaru and this is what i came through: http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:Acetone_as_a_Fuel_Additive#Experiment_at_your_own_risk there is a guy with a 93 legacy doing this experiment and said that his gas mileage increased, so i'm doing it too on my 95 legacy LS wagon lets see where it goes. i'll keep you all posted regards Neo
  8. How many miles is on the body? is it a AWD? 5spd or Auto? well 2K would be perfect price for a 95 legacy 5spd awd with ABS and a bad motor. If thats the case you will just have to swap motors, pretty easy to do.
  9. Hello Sorry to give yo bad news but the exactly same thing happened to me with my 90 legacy wagon L 5 spd i had. It turned out to be the head gasket. sniiiifff that was a good car 200k miles when i sold her.
  10. hahah i have! anyways i didnt know foresters came with drums? 2001? wow i thought they all had 4 wheel disks. hmmmm
  11. what you want is the legacy outback, which in these days its only called outback, the outback sport is the impreza and i think it does not have the raised suspension.
  12. it could also be a faulty spark plug and/or ignition wires, it surely sounds like one of my subarus that had a bad plug and the car wuld not move.
  13. ok well i re installed the TB within 1 hour and this time i got the timing about 1 degree off, she's running better than it was before i changed the timing belt. well when i first put the new TB in the timing was of by 15 to 17 degrees!!!!!!!!!!! thats why it was consuming gas and pinging. I got a CEL light after i reinstaled the TB but i erased it with my OBDII scanner. well now its all good, remember guys the m,arks must be exactly where they are supposed to be. cheers Neo
  14. Hey Carl, I tried the string of paper and resetting the ECU with the OBDII scanner reset, i guess what leave me off to do is to redo the TB job. neo
  15. nahhh its just the pinging noise that irritates the crap out of me and i'm getting 50 miles less per tank. so i as soon as i get it done i'll let you guys know what happnes. neo
  16. okies i will do it saturday, do you guys think it will damage anything else if i continue to run like that until saturday?
  17. so that means i will have to take everything apart again and redo the whole thing? ok ok well i guess i could
  18. hey guys i changed my timing belt this past weekend (95 LEGACY LS). but now i have a pinging noise and a high fuel consumption. Could it be that i left one of the cams advance a little? hmmmmm i'm puzzled
  19. nahhh its your ignition key cylinder, that happned to me with 3 different subarus, try to use a different key, your key may be worn
  20. or try this, i used same nozzles from another subaru, total project price was $0, thos are small parts that you can put in your pocket in the junk yards
  21. ECU is located under the carpet by the front passenger foot area, lift the carpet and you'll see a metal plate, remove that and the ecu is under that plate... .... good luck Neo
  22. there are screwss at the bottom of the ashtray housing remove those two and you'll be fine
