  1. Ya but even in a 13 year apart test it feels the exact same when compared to my legacy and the only real noticable thing was the fact that the engine was alot quiter when u hammered it in the forester where as with my legacy u hear the engine roar, but otherwise highway speed and city all sounded the same. We even tried the 2.5l with turbo and we floor it nothing till like 4000rpms whats the ppoint with all that turbo lag.
  2. But u know how i said the 2006 forester i test drove wasn't torquey well it could also be the drive ratio right? ANd yes aerodynamics, but i still love my 93 leg and i sank $10,000 CAN into it to make it exactly like new,and a little better. Although im still running the original 2.2l with 285,000km and it feels like day one (well i was young when we got the car so this is my dad talking). As you can tell im going to push my subaru for atleast another 13 years, through high school, university or collage, and a little bit of life.
  3. U think the 2.5l is torquey? I tryed a forester and it was crappy. U floor it and nothing would happen. Where as with my 1993 legacy with a 2.2l u floor it and it flies off the line.
  4. Im pretty sure there longer and i dont know if the mounts look different. Wait for someone else to come in.
  5. Maybe your suffering from torque bind. It is usually caused from what u did. All 4 tires should be changed at the same time. SO when u go slow does the vibration make it more difficult to steer? Oh and welcome to the forum.
  6. Thats wierd man, hmm. Seems like a internal problem. I guess u could try new plugs, new oil, new filter.
  7. i beleive 2000 to 2002 has headgasket issue it was the first gen 2.5l engines but 2004 2006 im sure is alright. By the way u think 1000 is alot to spend? i had spent 3000 to get my tranny fixed like brand new, however im talking canadian funds. But u really need to love your subarus to spend this much.
  8. Try fuel injection cleaner. Always works for me when i hear something.
  9. Thats bites rump roast eh. To bad they dont sell new legacies or impreza's or what ever with 2.2l. Just check out used vehicles. Everything will be alright bud.:-\
  10. Oh because my mom tryed a forester and said the forester leaned less. SO i guess it time for new springs to avoid it from breaking.
  11. Ya i doubt the temp sensor. I love my dealer. But i remember one dealer i hate them. I only go to dealers acually owned by subaru. ANd that looks nice(lol). I suggest another dealer. I just preffer the dealer just because they only work with subarus. ANd i have the worst luck with mech. shops. They dont know what there looking at. These cars arent built like a GM or ford or chrysler there built complex. But if u dont mind waiting for someone to reply u may. Im sure someone will say a knock sensor O2 sensor theres are thousands of sensors in your car. Oh and i dont know if they test air leaks. But i doubt it. All they do is stick a hose up ur muffler(my interpretation).
  12. Well i was wondering about my 93 legacy wagon with 280,000KM and the stabillizer or anti roll bar in the front is old. Do they just snap or weaken after a while. Because it does lean a bit around corners at 60mph:lol:.
  13. Ok first dont jump to the engine sensor. Start off with the fuel filter, air filter. And go to a local dealer this way they can diagnose the reason why the check engine light is on. But how does the car drive is it smooth start up smooth. If so it might just be the gas cap that has a air leak.
  14. I wouldnt worry about him he will be alright with the driveshaft on the side and rear wheels down.
  15. He has a point when u get off the gas all 4 wheels a spinning and it doesn't damage anything as long as it's in Neutral your good. But 150miles? Lift all 4 wheels, or drive it. But pulling the rear shaft won't hurt u don't have anything to worry about.
