Help me decide on a newer outback
Andyjo replied to fnlyfnd's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi think the 05 is lighter than the 04 too... not 100% sure though... but i'd say go for the 05, i have an OBXT, and the handling quite a bit different from my lifted OBS w/ no swaybars.... in a good way... The ride is alot smoother, and the interior is (in my opinion) alot nicer in the 05's. Also, i think there's more aftermarket support for the 05 Outback for handling and stuff, swaybars, etc.. because it's pretty much the same as the legacy GT. Go w/ the 05, it's closer, and the silver two tone is hotttt! Oh yeah, i think the 05 has the gun-metal grey rims? wanna trade w/ my OBXT rims?

Slottod rotors of 2005 Legacy GT?
Andyjo replied to SkipII's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXfor high stress braking slotted is the way to do, drilled rotors have a tendency to crack between the holes, more so than the slotted ones. and yeah, if you're not getting your brakes hot on a regular basis, it's not worth it. and of course, going to a bigger (larger dia) rotor means you need a different caliper and all sorts of jazz. Also, don't forget to bed-in a new set of pads/rotors when you get them, that makes a WORLD of difference.

Slottod rotors of 2005 Legacy GT?
Andyjo replied to SkipII's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXbrembo, ecb.... if you're going to do it, do the front & rear at the same time so you don't get wierd power differences. i've got rears for my obxt (sitting in a box), i'm just waiting to get the fronts.. going w/ ecb green pads when i get all the part together (and ss lines of course )

Cargo box on a lego wagon - what works?
Andyjo replied to 99lego's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXyup, and chopped a little off of the rear lip, because i didn't feel like drilling another set of holes, when i was about 3mm to far back. i managed to keep one of the mounts for the front and back in the 'slider' part, but i also had issues because the obxt has a spoiler at the top of the hatch, i don't think 99 legacies had that. I have seen some of the new boxes are re-designed to allow hatches to open better (pretty much just a larger sliding range, and an angled rear section i think.

Uneven exhaust on '06 Outback ...
Andyjo replied to mtsmiths's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi wouldn't worry about it too much, my obxt does the same thing, and most cars w/ twin tip cans have a bias towards on, since it's the same system, no biggie. if you had 2 separate lines though... that would be a different story.

Wheel Lug Question *Wheels On*
Andyjo replied to Durania's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXlug nuts? they'll look prettier w/ alloy nuts, goto a junkyard, and pull some.. like.. 20 to be exact as long as your lug spacing is 5x100 you should be all set, and i do believe that's the spacing for your car.

Centre diff lock on AWD auto
Andyjo replied to Fatz's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI believe it's the latter of the two methods, but i could be (most likely) be wrong. how about a switch like this: i couldn't find the uber secure usb hub on thinkgeek... requires 2 keys, some flip covers, one of those big levers..... and yeah, if you could get it to be 'almost full lock' that would be good, because i think when it's binding, the ATF Pressure in the valves below the solenoid build up enough, and blow out the oring on the bottom of the solenoid. (or that's at least what mine looked like )

Centre diff lock on AWD auto
Andyjo replied to Fatz's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWow... that's some crazy EE talk... damn sparkies.... I believe someone looked up the signals once. I thing there is an underlaying signal (square wave), which is then pulsed in another set of squares, and controls by the pulse width (does that make any sense to you?) I started working on a circuit design at once point... i think 2 555 timers and a potentiometer to control the pulsewidth somehow... yes... muhahaha the frequencies of these things.. i have no clue :-p

Centre diff lock on AWD auto
Andyjo replied to Fatz's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI've played with it before... i think you just nominated yourself to hookup the oscilliscope I think it was thhhheee..... 11th pin? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50264 that should give you a little more info... as for locating it... i haven't heard of anyone doing it w/ a newer (00+) roo' I would totally suggest you run it through a relay, and not just a switch, there's alot of current that goes through there, and it can burn out your switch (like it did mine :-\ ) And yeha, if you leave it on, and descide to tow a trailer 265 miles on the highway... yeah.. goodbye solenoid.
