you just answered subie94's question. The reason i have the T is so that i can plug the snorkle in rain/snow situations where water would possibly get in. It's just a threaded cap that i can throw in, the intake on the inside is also threaded, so when i go swimming i can just plug up that hole w/ the same cap, and use only the snorkle. It was also requested by my girlfriend that the snorkle be removable... because she wasn't very fond of the idea in the first place, so the joint right inside the fender it in place w/ silicon gasket material, so i can just pop it out whenever i need, and throw a rubber stopper, or something like that in the fender hole. It runs very nicely with both ports open though

WoohoO! it's done, and painted pretty black. I still need to go re-sand it and paint it again. it works oh so well!! oh yeah.. bending 2" sch 40 pvc is not fun! now i just need to wait for the water to not be frozen to give it a test run!

Siping? sorry, i don't know the terminology, does that mean cutting the big treads into smaller ones? just slitting them into say 5-10 slits? if so, my snow tires are 'siped' and they're i believe there's a large advantage to them vs. some other snow tires i've used before.

At least i threw some spray paint on it It looked really funny before that. The second hole looks pretty funny too... but whatever... now i just need a plow and some smoke stacks for my exhaust! who's got that picture of the old wagon w/ the smoke stacks...

I'd say most subarus are pretty hard core in the 'toughness' factor. I offoroad my impreza (OBS) quite a bit, have smashed in many components on the underside, and it's still running strong... My recent problem happens to be the fuel sending unit... but i think that's because i cruched the gas tank w/ a rock

So i had to up the pipe side to 2" PVC, opposed to 1.5", it the motor just wasn't happy w/ the 1.5". I also changed the configuration of the fittings inside, which ment i had to put another hole in the fender But no worries, I'll bondo up that hole when i'm done.... here's where it's at now, without the rest of the snorkle built.. this is just the pipe out the fender, with a cap ducttaped on

he's gonna have issues fitting it to your car if he doesn't have it The mudrat front bumper is just HOTT on a baja... the one on his website makes me want one sooo bad...

So after talking to Austin for a while last night i decided that i'd throw a snorkle on my subie After about 1.5 hour in the hardware store playing w/ PVC pieces i got enough stuff to keep me busy for the afternoon. I only got the internal stuff worked out tonight... the external will have to wait till after xmas. I want to be able to take the snorkle off, so that's why where's a T in there, with all sorts of threaded crap everywhere. Here's the internal workings.... Here's it after i "put it in it's place"... required some hack saw & hammer action. Here's the hole w/ the pipe plug in it.. the cap is a little large, and the fender didn't want to go back on w/ it on there.. hmmm... i may have to re-think the directionality of this system... More to come!

i think subieclimbs is useing them (King Springs = Scorpion Spring) on his outback. I wanted to get a set for my impreza when i lifted it, but my funds were lacking for the springs very hott. i can't wait to get my taller springs, and 28" all terrains

Here's the King Springs Site: http://www.kingsprings.com/ Here's their coil spring catalogue: http://www.kingsprings.com/kings_master_catalogue.pdf The subaru stuff starts on page 10.

I went to the local shop and asked them if i could borrow the right tool for a day or 2, they didn't have a problem with it... because honestly, when do you ever use a 14mm allen tool!

I think it's like 12 bucks! If i do it up before i leave for school i could get 2, save on shiping for us NH folk -
Oh yeah, you're most likely going to need a shop to change out the bearing, because you're "supposed" to use a hydrolic press to get them in and out.. pain in the rump roast if you ask me. I've had it done 3 times now (twice they didn't know about the legacy bearing), cost about.. $300 labor + parts, but if you get parts via Jamie it'll drive your cost down

it was like that in northern NY the other day, like you said, 1/2" of ice on the car... even w/ it running (after chopping ice for 1/2 hour to get IN the car) it took about 1.5 hours to get all the windows cleared off. But after that, ohhh boy was it fun to drive around
