  1. Case solved. It was the electronic throttle control relay. The car ran for about ten minutes and then I gave it the throttle and the motor died on me. Assuming it's the spark plugs or fuel filter. This car sat for years at an auction yard.
  2. Good to know! I just started working on cars a year ago so my knowledge of all this is minimal and growing every day. The electrical side of cars is insane! I will report back with today's findings
  3. Thanks for the info GD! Do the throttle bodies around these years have their own dedicated relays or do they use the MAIN relays on the diagrams? So far looking through the service manuals I haven't found any information pointing towards a dedicated relay for the throttle body, but there are also a lot of diagrams to read, no doubt I could have missed something! Still a bit tripped out that I got +7V on the reference voltage wire... but I am going to put that thought to the side right now and keep looking for areas of concern.
  4. I am having a complex issue and have done a bit of testing up to this point. Basically when I start my car I have code P2101, at first I thought my throttle body (the actuators in it) were dead so I replaced my throttle body assembly, but to no avail. I did another test and started the car again, but this time unplugged the TPS while the car was running. Zero change at all. This leads me to believe faulty wiring to the connector. But when I first made this post I was thinking it could be a relay feeding the TPS causing a short or something similar. Upon measuring the reference voltage wire on the TPS connector I got +7V instead of +5V... very odd. Anyone have ideas? I do know that my accelerator pedal is working because when I plugged in my diagnostic program the sensor read the pedal change, and if I put the pedal to the floor the motor will accelerate slowly.
  5. Are there any relays for the electronic throttle body in the 2008 Outback 2.5i non turbo? Getting code P2101 even after replacing my throttle body assembly (which has the TPS fastened to it.)
  6. What is the suggested clutch kit for replacement? A brand new OEM kit or performance aftermarket? @ShawnW
  7. Alright I got a bunch of parts that arrived! Intake manifold w/ SPFI throttle body, distributor, all necessary intake stuff, and MAF. All from a 1993 Loyale, quite a big year gap but we will see what happens.
  8. Yes they do! I think I paid $364 (?) for my pair of front CV axles. Went right in!
  9. CVJ Axles in Colorado will rebuild your OEM axles. They sent me OEM reman'd 1984 GL front axles earlier this year, great service! All through email.
  10. 1993 Legacy Wagon AWD Automatic 4EAT transmission Code P22 and the car will not shift properly. Owner says that it started having the shifting issues after he put on a spare tire and put the 15A FWD fuse in. Anyone know what this could be?
  11. This it? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2650372&cc=1268478&jsn=10371
  12. Yep. There is a lot of science and work put into new synthetic oils.
  13. @jono - Okay good to know! I will take a thorough look at this when I receive the EA82 intake manifold. Thanks! @el_freddo - Right on man. Do you have a picture of the toilet bowl gasket you are referring to? Not sure I know what you are talking about! I'm with you on sourcing those nuts as well, I would prefer to put new ones back on, same with the intake manifold bolts. Is there an aftermarket distributor that isn't trash and that is purchasable that will not require a modification? Just curious.
  14. Thank you! The progress will be slow as I source parts and have time to work on it. Haha, GD is a boss, but I must not listen to him on this one and listen to the PDF he wrote about SPFI lol! Where are you at with your conversion so far? I just sourced pretty much everything I need, now it's time to order it. Please keep tuning in to this thread and sharing you two cents as well, I am sure we will be able to help each other out along the way!
  15. Intake manifold removed. Got the top of the motor cleaned up a little bit too! So much grease from the previous owners...
  16. Yes I have the guide downloaded luckily! I will follow it it as closely as possible. Wish there were more EA81T or EA82T out there with the MPFI, I would much rather have that. Thanks for the tip jono!
  17. I've already seen those exact posts from him hahahaha! I don't care.
  18. Does anyone have intake manifold gasket suggestions? From what I am reading Fel-Pro is BAD. RockAuto is showing Fel-Pro, APEX, and MAHLE.
  19. Starting this thread to use it as a log for my conversion! I recently starting acquiring parts from the fuel injected EA82 motor to convert my EA81. I'm going to be using GeneralDisorder's guide that he wrote to help me along the way. So far I have sourced an intake manifold w/ the throttle body, air intake boot, a wiring harness, and also ECU. I've already began taking off the current intake manifold on the EA81. Got all the bolts out except for the bolt that holds the bracket to the accelerator cable lol.... going to try at it again today since I let it soak in some pb blaster. I live in Washington so a carburetor just ain't going to cut it here in the cold and on hills. Fuel injection all the way baby! Please post any tips or tricks you might have or know about this conversion. I want to make the SPFI system as top notch as I can, whether it be really nice fuel pumps, or even a custom ECU if people have suggestions (like the megasquirt, etc)
