  1. I will tell you this regarding the neutral switch. I tried testing it like you did, and didn't get squat when the trans was out of the car. I don't recall if I retested it when it was back in the car. Do your reverse lights work? If so, temporarily swap the wiring for the reverse lights to the neutral switch. The reverse lights should go on when the car is in gear. The cruise switch should be independent of what you swapped in. Have you checked all your fuses?
  2. Yeah....as mentioned, it cost more to buy just the filter then it does to buy the whole kit. I bought the whole kit when I replaced mine.

  4. No, the original oem muffler is not loud at all. You should be able to get an OEM replacement type muffler for a reasonable cost that is quiet.
  5. You may want to pick up the new subiesport magazine. It talks a little bit about the new legacy. Also, you may want to check out www.legacygt.com/forums
  6. I don't think there is a specific list anywhere. But there's probably several threads if you search.
  7. Have you removed the bleeder screw on the radiator to aid in bleeding air from the cooling system? It's possible the coolant temp sensor may be bad. They're not too expensive, and probably isn't a bad idea to replace it.

  9. It's not exactly fun. You need to remove the bottom plastic piece under the dash, and that should give you access to the ECU & TCU. You'll probably have to remove the TCU which is held in with two 10mm nuts to get at the ECU.

  11. Yes, you can have one put in. Back in 02, there was a guy locally here in tx that had one put in. You just need to find a shop that does that kind of work.
  12. Blackbart should be able to get a hold of an ECU for you. Any Automatic based (JECS) ECU for the 90-91 legacies should be interchangable. If you have one that you think may be in question, post the number and I can check it.
  13. Yeah I hear you. The auto manufactures have changed. Even the japanese manufacturers. They have cheapened things since the early 90's. There's little things on my car like the strut covers in the engine bay that they stopped using on the 95 & later cars to reduce costs. Thanks for the compliments on the Legacy. it's undergone a huge transformation. The car was originally a FWD, normally aspirated, & Auto trans. It's now AWD, 5spd, & turbocharged. I'm the process of putting in a new turbo & air to water intercooler. http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/td05/ The car has been across country, PA to WA four times, I drove it from PA to Memphis, and memphis to Houston, and Houston to Seattle and back. It's had some road time. However with all the performance upgrades I've done, it's lost some of its road manners. Josh
  14. One...because they're in it to make money, and by charging you to replace the headgasket....they make money. Either way, I doubt that stuff works.
  15. Pretty much anything will fit for the 94-01 impreza. The body style is the same. It's funny you mention that all you find is WRX stuff, because the 98 and later Impreza RS was what probably gained subaru the popularity for the big wigs to bring over the WRX. NASIOC used to be nothing but owners of cars like yours.....look at it now. There is stuff available, you just need to search around. These cars are like legos, so don't be discouraged if you don't see something specifically for your year and model. Depending on what you find, the chances are it should fit other models/years.   16. More then likely different engine connectors. Hell....between the first gen legacies, there were different harnesses between the 90-91 MY's, 92-94, MY's, and 91-94 turbo MY's. Your best bet is to reuse the engine harness for the car that the engine is going into, and just splice any needed wires into the engine harness.
  17. If it's at the same location as the stock one, it should be reading the pressure at the correct spot. As for pressure. The factory manual lists the following info for the pump. @ 600 rpm 14 psig 4.4 qt./min @ 5000 rpm 43 psig 11.10 gal/min The relief valve set pressure is 71 psig. This information is for the ej22 normally aspirated motor. Something definitely doesn't sound right. Maybe a bad gauge, or something didn't get put together properly.
  18. That's the thing....looking at the deck of an EJ22 & EJ25....they should look very similar if not the same. So I'm not sure why the EJ25 has so many issues.

  20. Yeah that does seem rather low. Where do you have the sender installed?
  21. You may want to search on http://forums.nasioc.com/forums see what others have, and ask them where they got it from.
  22. You need to make sure that power is going to the switch, and from there, to the regulator, and then to the motor.
