  1. These were useful for decoding https://www.nhtsa.gov/vin-decoder https://www.scoobynet.com/vindecoder.php?vin=4S3BE646535210368
  2. Have a 2003 Baja, MT, N/A, EJ251 Changed the pcv valve, high oil consumption 1qt/ 300-500 miles, no oil leaks anywhere, nothing else changed. Nothing. Tried starting, car backfired, turned over a number times before finally starting but ran rough, died/ started a few times, eventually warmed up a little and ran smooth after. However, each time I try to start it cold, temperature now near freezing, so same starting issues. Ideas? Well, answered my own question with doing a relearn: disconnected the -ve cable, shorted to the -ve, let it sit for >15 minutes, restarted with NO ISSUES!!! 2 days of chasing red herrings! In addition, my main and sub fans came on immediately just turning the key to the"On" position and would stay on, thought I may have pulled out a wire somewhere, checked the relays, etc. But after doing the relearn, the fans no longer turn on right away..., tied into the ECM somehow...

  4. Hi folks, have 2003 Baja, car is in magnificent shadow for the year, 142k miles, US model but out of Saskatoon, EJ21 engine I believe, burning a little oil, thinking of either rebuild or install a donor one. Looking for thoughts on costs of rebuild or buy a donor, see costs are quite reasonable for donor units. I assume al the mounts are pretty much identical. I dont want any less power but also no looking to go turbo although they are fun! Had an '06 Legacy GT.
