lifts and shocks on an ea81..
uncoolperson replied to uncoolperson's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
sorry about not putting it in the old gen forum... wasn't sure where this was best suited. -
i search, and searched... and did more of that, looked through all kinds of spec sheets and such (not knowing what i'm doing ofcourse) and now i'm wondering (before i assume) would these shocks work for a 4 inch lift on my hatch? am I reading this right? (just drill the holes out some) monroe part #'s (the top is the one i'm looking at, the bottom is stock) #### upper lower compressed extended travel 32205-xp7---ls14---12.875-----21.375---8.5 5914--xp13--ls29----12.75-----17.5-----4.75 or is the more Frankenstein work on the shocks a better idea?

my '78 wagon needs a trannie
uncoolperson replied to ianhilley's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
my was a exhaust thing...(it was a brat) although that was more of a clunking/scrape.... either way it seems (or so i was told) the tranny rides lower (some magical way?) when it's in 2wd. -
Marysville Everett Need a Roomate?
uncoolperson replied to NoahDL88's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
we should have enough members in whatcom/skagit that could call you 'a room mate' if anyone ever called. -
No more signatures?!?! SIGNATURE POLL
uncoolperson replied to torxxx's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i'm still stuck on the checkbox to show my signature when making a new post... checking it right now (for fun) ohh... and not that i mind a whole bunch, signatures are kinda nice, and kinda not (uncool perhaps), but we always had the option in the user settings to not display signatures/pictures and other stuff. If someone was really unhappy with looking at signatures it wasn't that hard to turn them off. -
mudisfun and myself are here do a quick forum search for bellingham, for some reason this town (or whatcom county) has the most threads like this

i don't quite understand your usage, but here in the office it's 'duke-ified' (reference to a guy named 'duke') hey sorry i had to run, hope the absense of my expert tooll/doodad fetching abilities didn't hurt the progress too much in the end, told the girl i'd be gone for a couple of hours... not happy on my return

uncoolperson replied to uncoolperson's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
my brother said something about the tranny sitting differently when 4wd drive is engaged or maybe it was just magic (high school chem teacher told us if we couldn't expain something just call it magic) -

well i drove her around for awhile... just to see if it might be the exhaust (only really thing that has changed), even though it didn't look like it could be pulled the exhaust off and hey look at that some nice shiney metal right there (there being where that joint or whatnot on the driveline is near the exhaust) so i prop the exaust on the bumper and jump on it a bit. put it back on and run my check again. repeated those steps a few times....and huzzah no more rubbing! Thanks all... sorry i'm so dumb, it really didn't look like it could've been that (two hands easy between the exhaust and anything that moved) -
sorry but i'm just really happy right now. Finally after searching for this part and that, hours under the car in the rain laying in piles of some really annoying red berries, yelling at this that and the other... and thinking hmmm... maybe i should part it out. She's alive!!!!!! no more serious trail runs for this baby.... maybe something light on occasion. she's beat up, fenders poorly cut up (or tore in two mostly) all that i should do now is that heater fan, and the dash lights... and maybe mount that hammock in the back... Thanks to all that helped mucho to oneeye, todd, and that guy in mt vernon who's name i keep forgetting (sorry dude)
