  1. No problem, I'm sure we'll go again next month or sometime soon!
  2. I would be worried if it was lowered. But if you can get some more clearance you might be fine, put on some Tein gravel springs or something. I would suggest the same as any other stock height vehicle and that is to stick to the open hard pack stuff, no going back in the trees on the rooted trails or in the loose deep sand, and choose you line carefully. But again its you car so do what you want. It would be fun to see a WRX open up on the hard sand! I would also make sure you at least have a beefy skid plate on and you also need to mount a orange flag on the car. I know the Honda shop in South town Corvallis on 99W has some.
  3. You should be fine as long as you stick to the open hard pack stuff. Plus there are alot of us lifted rigs there that could pull you out. Just be careful and choose you lines wisely.
  4. nice! I'll keep updating the first post in this thread with all of the relevant info for everyone so you don't have to sift through pages of posts to find out whats going on.
  5. Too bad, we'll miss you out there! Maybe some other time. Everyone I updated the time to meet for 10am so those that have a long drive to get over there will have enough time for the trip. Looks like we will have a good group.
  6. I have a 270 ohm resistor that I'll try next. No electronics stores in the Portland area (Radioshack, Fry's, etc...) have 275 ohm resistors so it was either a 270 or 300. Anyone out there actually try to correct their temp gauge with this method on an EJ22 swap?
  7. Here's another good article.
  8. Glad you can make it!
  9. Ken Block will be driving a Ford Fiesta in the Rally America series and a Ford Focus in the WRC for 2010. The article here. That leaves Subaru with Travis Pastrana and Dave Mirra for the 2010 rally calendar.
  10. I think he's talking about the oil pressure sender here.
  11. Ok, I re-wired as per the diagram Numbchux posted with the 300 ohm resistor going to ground. The gauge finally works but still reads really low. The needle is just above the "C" mark when the engine is warm. This is about 1/4 of where it was normally. Hmmm, any other ideas on how to get an accurate reading more in the middle of the gauge?
  12. Thanks guys, I'll give it a go tomorrow and see what happens!
  13. Sure, I'll put up a pic. The fans are just in front of the radiator where the AC condenser was before. So no I didn't get the AC working. Couldn't figure out how to have the fans in there with the condenser. So I just took out the whole system. Don't really need it here in Oregon.
  14. Ahh, that would explain why it didn't work. So let me get this straight, the signal wire from the EJ harness would normally connect straight to the wire for the gauge? So to splice the resistor in I need to T off of this connection from the signal wire and go to a ground after the resistor while still leaving the connection to the gauge wire from the signal wire?
  15. Been awhile but I got some more progress done. I wired in a 1/4 watt 300 ohm resistor in line from the wire off of the EJ harness labeled "Temp Guage" from Numbchux, into the wire for the temp gauge on my Loyale cluster (pin 13 on a black plug I believe). I'm going out to get the car warmed up right now and see if the gauge reads anything and I'll post up the results.
  16. Great to see some interest, any others thinking about coming?:banana:
  17. All right we have some interest. Let's shoot for the 17th of January. We can all meet at this location say around 9:30am, (Sandlake Grocery & Gas).
  18. mine too! should be a fun run!
  19. I know a bunch of us have been throwing the idea around so I wanted to start a thread to organize a run down to Sand Lake sometime January. The ATV's, Dirt Bikes, etc... should be few and the sand should be a bit more packed from the rain. What weekends work for those interested? I talked with Chaz and Sundays are good for him and fine with me too. Let's shoot for the 17th of January. We can all meet at this location say around 10am, (Sandlake Grocery & Gas). Its 11 miles South of Tillamook, OR. Looks like each vehicle is required to have an Off Road Permit which we can get at the gas station there, a 9' orange flag on vehicle, and a working fire extinguisher. So far we have going: cmiller TeamCF scoobyclimbs mthoodsub daredevil1166 obk25XT MrGlegacy Gloyale sube4X4 coldfusion21 Breeke 4tes We will be on CB channel 22. If any changes or additions please let us know. Looks to be a great group!

    yeah Sand Lake!
  21. Looking good Greg, almost there! Happy B-day old man!
  22. Just added some EA82 rear disc brakes today. Really easy swap. Wow, what a difference!
  23. Congrats! You'll love having that engine!
  24. I just did the swap to my '92 Loyale, (same type of car as your GL just fuel injected) and I love it! No more gutless turd of an engine! Here's a link to my thread on the whole process and things you need: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103355 The costs are based on how resourceful you can be. Alot of parts for the swap can be found in a wrecking yard. I listed out where I got all of my parts in the thread above. Feel free to ask me any questions, I may have some answers. Hope this helps. -Chris
