  1. i second the switched power from the stereo.. its usually an easy wire to get at
  2. Back in the day *or currently in the day* the way that the monster trucks like bigfoot and gravedigger and such use a switch mounted on the window, flip it forward the tires throw about 10 degrees out to the right, same for the opposite switch to the left... it would help under like...slow rock-crawling conditions... but then you're throwing servo's and actuators and crap into the mix.... an idea! lol but not for me
  3. As for the tick of death, i replaced the O ring in the bottom rear part of the head, where it goes to the block, and the oil pump gaskets *mickey mouse, large o, and small o* my tick is gone! from what i read about it, it seemed to do the trick! Luigi
  4. that sounded awesome man!!!! i hope my gl10 will sound liek that soon. nice work
  5. I second the assembly lube. Just coat the crap out of the cams, and you're rockin!!! *no pun intended*
  6. yeah i definitly have the single wire, and its interesting,.....the one i have now does not have a hole in the bottom, but my old one did... maybe this is my problem...
  7. yes its to prevent damage. the knock sensor *from what i understand* hears a "knock" and retards the timing on the engine.... thats as far as i know....
  8. I recieved a trouble code from the computer saying my knock sensor ...sucked. I had gotten one from the junkyard, and noticed when i replaced it, one had a hole in the bottom *where it sits against the block* and my replacement one did not. The computer didn't like either one. .... has anyone heard of this being a problem? what does the hole do? is there a reason i need one with the hole, or without? do knock sensors go out often? could it be the circuit? its my only trouble code, and after a 3 1/2 month rebuild, this is my only snafu... i'd like to get that stupid light off the dash!... without the use to electrical tape thanks!!! Luigi
  9. the guy has posted more movies, and i thought i would give him a bump. freakin awesome for anyone who hasnt seen this

  11. haha good call man, i noticed that as well, but i'm like you, i notice and go "hey!" but still buy the tshirt hehe, its good to notice stuff like that!!! all about attention to detail
  12. thanks man!! i poured my heart, soul and blood into this thing every sunday 8am for the past 3 months.... i was so anal about everything. ....you could eat out of the oil pan when i was done cleaning it out.... a 17 year old oil pan... .....and i did! i had a sandwitch over it when i was done AND set the sandwitch on top of the top tier of the inner plate on the oil pan... just cuz i could, it was that clean.. ......yes i cleaned it before it went on the car
  13. IT WAS AMAZING not even a "wrrrr wrrr wrrrr.... wrrr wrrr wrrr... VROOM!" i turned the key, and it was like "CLICKVROOM!" instant on!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes i got some video of it. i got a check engine light, and i have yet to diagnose the problem, but MAN it just TORE up the hill. it was awesome. next will come a gen 3 head for the driver side. SWEET!! thanks for the luck! and i'll be posting a vid soon
  14. yeah 100 is pretty standard, then shipping usually will usually kick you in the gonads, sometimes as much as 70 bucks dont get kicked in the gonads. its bad
  15. You know, this really isnt fair. To have a prize as GRAND as a Skittle, then TEASE with no pic?!?!! Thats just not right... *shakes head*
  16. Well sunday sunday sunday.... .....My GL-10 is scheduled to have the final pieces placed on ....and the key turned. hopefully by late sunday afternoon, she'll be pulling out of the driveway UNDER HER OWN POWER (not just gravity), and finally get to launch down the dirt trails.... Why am i posting?! because i need everyone to cross their fingers for me . WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!
  17. ...very interesting... ... i already own a tow dolly.... i'll look into removing the rear driveshaft....
  18. Ok, so everyone knows about my 87 GL-10 sedan with full time 4WD, 5sp with its super sweet LSD in the back... my problem is i do not own a full car trailer... ...one that takes all 4 wheels off the ground *i think thats what its called* so my question is this! i read in the tech manual about a lever that disengages the rear axle... or the center diff... or something. i just wanna know if i can tow the car with all 4 wheels on the ground... somehow! i dont have 1000 bucks for a trailer, and i'm sure theres someone here who knows a way thanks ahead of time!!! Luigi
  19. Thanks so much for the response!!! the rockers went in PERFECTLY... but i hope this thread will help other people out in the future!! including me when i do the drivers side head!!! thanks again!!! Luigi
  20. yeah i even tried jacking the passenger side up as high as i could safely, and gravity still wouldnt hold the bastards on there without some thick thick stuff.... . ....and the engine was still in the car... i WISH i had a rotisserie.
  21. I KNEW SOMEONE WAS GOING TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THAT!!! HAHAHAHA not necessairly that i was OUT of vaseline, but i dont own any. HOW BOUT THAT! hehehehe
  22. Thanks everyone!! IT worked! i was out of vaseline, and i couldnt find any moly grease, so i used this stuff that looked like a thicker assembly lube, and it worked great. thanks everyone!!! Luigi
  23. I cant get the rockers to stay in place when putting them onto the EA82T head. any type of grease or sticky stuff besides engine assembly lube? that stuff didnt allow it to really stick. i just want them to stay put so i can rock the cam on top of them. any ideas?!?!
  24. i ended up using a whole bunch of clean rags, then using GUNK engine brite, and spraying it down with water.... a wire wheel to the outside, and a fresh coat of Dark blue temp resistant paint, and man that thing... i ate dinner out of it the other night thanks for the help!!!!
