  1. so... has anyone heard any news since this came out like...2 years ago!?!?? i'm checking out all these old threads... i highly reccommend it ...while listening to 2 Legit...
  2. i think my motive is being skewed... i was just curious what they would have to say in response...
  3. Well i wrote them back explaining that people have some descrepicancys (sp) with subaru's numbers, and what are on the road. this is their response... Dear Mr. Oppido: Thank you for your reply. I hope you had a good weekend! The production numbers are directly from our Distribution Department. They keep permanent records of vehicles sold. The numbers are what they are. I do not know how someone outside of Subaru of America, Inc. would have access to our confidential records to be able to contest this information. I would be interested in knowing where they are getting their information. For those years, ALL Subaru models, including Legacy, were still built in Japan. Of course many more were built and sold in other worldwide markets, but the numbers I gave you were for the vehicle manufactured and produced for the US market ONLY. It was not until 1995 that Legacy models were built in the USA, but again, I would only be quoting you the number of models made for the US market. Many more were built and sold in Japan, UK, Germany, Australia, etc. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact me again! Best regards, Samir Hasan Subaru of America, Inc. Headquarters Cherry Hill, New Jersey www.subaru.com it was cool of him to write back like that. felt important. so flame on! what do ya think!?!?!
  4. i just updated all my posts. what worked and what didnt... after reading some of my older questions... .... ive learned so much!
  5. break loose the cam part of the head from the head part of the head, and use a thick grease to hold the lash adjustors in place... then rock the head back over... and all is well.. worked great!
  6. After installing the lash asjustors with no pumping up, i have ZERO click. i believe it to be from the new gaskets in the oil pump and in the cilinder head. works flawlessly... been driving the car for a little over a month
  7. Figured out the problem was a broken wire in the freakin wiring harness... replaced the wire going from the comptuer directly to the knock sensor, bye bye check engine light. YOUR CONNECTION IS ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR WEAKIST LINK! check your continuity!
  8. for all your 90-96 legacy automatic transmission model number questions: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46398

  10. ...can subaru really not know the #'s of cars produced? are those only the cars made in like... the usa? doesnt count the ones made in japan, or iin canada? there has to be some corolation... subaru cant just be making up numbers.... if i had to put money down... i would say that those are the numbers for the cars...built in the usa.. i'll write subaru again Luigi wow.... the legacy central BBS site was PISSED i posted this... i just thoguht i would tell everyone that i got those same numbers again.... i meant no harm... i dont think i'll be posting over there any more

  17. I just wanted to thank everyone for their help, i hope this thread can clear up peoples model number questions on the 4EAT! THANKS AGAIN!!!!!! Luigi

  19. ive got a 1992 touring wagon... Automatic. my favorite feature is the FUNCTIONAL hood scoop. it channels air down over the metal shroud that blows onto the turbine casing on the turbo. neat http://www.bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?t=23045
  20. *Josh I hope you dont start hating me * before in one of the first posts in the thread, you said : so is that particular tranny model number a 3.900? or is it a 4.111. Also TUNERED threw out: Can I add this to my list of ok tranny's to pick up? Sorry i'm being such a hard@$$ about this, I just want to make sure i have as much knowledge as possible going to the tranny shop...and not get super SUPER skilled and replacing a transmission *if you catch my drift* by getting the wrong one. Thank you SUZAM!!!! I appriciate you getting those numbers for me! Thanks again everyone!! Luigi
  21. Yeah, i dont think i was making any sense, i've edited my posts a bit to change it from saying PART # to model #. I'm collecting a list of all the available MODEL numbers, years, and which Legacys they came out of, so i can go to the tranny shop, see a transmission sitting on the shelf, read the TZ MODEL number, and know it came out of a (19##) (NA or Turbo) (Wagon or Sedan) Legacy. I know others have the same question, so if people could just go out, and look under their hood, and write their tranny number down if you have an automatic... that'd be so awesome. I saw a dude at school with a legacy, and ran over to him, before i said anything i looked in his car (yeah this is while he was driving around looking for a parking spot) and he had a 5 speed so i just said nevermind. he probably thought i was crazy. help me out!!! Luigi
