February 19, 200422 yr ok i just finished unpluging every connector, and speedo cable, i just have one last problem. the two connectors that plug into the back of the cluster for gauges, that are round, one transparent and the otehr black, how to i un plug these. i want to take apart the gauges and paint the inside silver so its brighter rather then that dumb green, then put in my red bulbs. please hurry with a responce im leaving for school in a few hours and need to finish this up. February 19, 200422 yr If they are the same plugs I am thinking of, there should be a little tab in the middle of the wires on the plug, just push it toward towards the wire. If that dosent work push it the other way while pulling slightly. Matt
February 19, 200422 yr They should just pop right off. I just pulled the inst. panel out of my '84 Hatch, those two where tight but they came off with a sharp tug. Hope this helps
February 19, 200422 yr Pull them off the are keyed so re-assembly is idiot proof! Can't ask for more than that!
February 20, 200422 yr there is a tab that should be pushed, if you don't push it, it will break off, and vibrate loose when you need it most
February 20, 200422 yr Author ya just after i pushed submit, i thought, well what the hell ill go out and see if i can figure it out, i will probally be able to, sure enough i tilted the cluster face down and looked through the windshield and saw that you push the tab. THANK YOU SUBARU FOR PUTTING 194 BULBS IN THE CLUSTER!!! Shean
April 8, 200619 yr Is there really that many bulbs? Mine only seems to have about half duz. And only half of them work.
April 8, 200619 yr pop out the off button and the DEF button. remove the screws. leave the selector unit with the car
