THAT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang::clap:

If there was ANY way I could get it I would!

my grandpa wants me to find him a 2.2 to put in his westfaila. its a manual though. and much older.

Shean

Nah man, go for a 3.3L SVX motor instead:D

the wife had one those with the 2.0 air cooled mpfi motor woo weee a whopping 80 hp <i think> in a 3000 lb van didn't win any races but it held its own on the freeway

the 3 speed <or was it 4> made it kinda wind out on the highway a bit hi for my tastes

i really wanted to put a 1.8 turbo in it but we got rid of it

i thought the side ducts would have been perfect for dual intercoolers

run the blow off valve so it vented off somewhere outside and loudly

dam yo that could definately be a big pimpin ride. need to lower it and do some gunuine pleather on the interior.

thats ony an hour away from me.

explain to wife " I know we have 5 cars but this ones a turbo vanisube. those dont come along every day. can we just keep it for a road trip or two?"

a friend of mine has an old chevy van, pretty nice, wth wrap-around couch, stereo, "DUBs", etc. surprisingly, it looks good with the 20" wheels.

i always feel like the most baddassinest thug whenever i ride in it.

put the seat back, way back, and pop in "slowride".

hey don't knock the 2.0l vans! My mom had a '78 transporter with the 2.0l mpfi hydraulic lifter motor, and it beat an mr2 on a straight stretch, and held its own in the twisties :D those vans look alot more ungainly than they are, all the weight is still down low, and they have stiff suspension.

Id really be drooling over that van if it had synchro 4wd ;)

yeah if it was a Synchro, I think it would be worth a LOT more though. I wouldn't mind it if it was a Synchro but I'd still pimp it even 2wd:D

C'mon guys, these vans are almost free now. That waterboxer engine is total crap. Find a good one with a blown engine and do the conversion yourselves. It's a good excuse to buy a welder.

my 2.0l wasnt a water boxer, it was the last and highest tech version of all the vw air cooled motors

The guy that puts 5 speeds in SVX's also sells the kit to install a SVX 6 cyl. into this set-up with the predictable results. A few cooling issues, burping the system, but the trans-axel handles it real well. I vote SVX!

The hippie driver makes hissing sounds from hitting the bong, and the engine in back makes hissing sounds from hitting the boost!!

That'd be awesome.

The best hippie ride would be an early-gen VW bus with with murals on the sides and a twin-turboed SVX engine. That would be psychadelic, man:cool: .
