March 1, 200422 yr I need one! Another mechanic was lookin over my Sube, and he lost the cap... Subes are really hard to find around here, yet I am NOT buying a new part from the stealership. Is there any other car/model/make that'll fit an EA82? Thanks!
March 1, 200422 yr they sell them auto zone for like 5 bucks i think. when i lost mine i just crammed an old sock down the tube and taped it up until i got a cap. i dont know if thats something youd want to do though.

March 1, 200422 yr When I lost mine, I just drove around without a cap for about 30 minutes. Oddly enough, not a drop of oil came out.

June 20, 200421 yr I've got the same problem. I put it on the spare tyre when i was filling up the engine with oil. After about half an hour of driving there was this huge clunk, from what i later realised was the thing hitting something on it's way down. I'm broke so i can't afford a new one (something like US$10) (I'm in New Zealand if anybody wants to post me one for NZ$5). Um, I don't know what the story with your guys engines are, i've been running it with the cap off for two weeks no problem, it's an ea81 engine. I had a rag stuck down it but it came out sometime over the last few days. Anyway, the filler hole is 50ml wide, so i'm going shopping tonight for some baby food, from what i've seen they come in 50ml wide cans. I figure i could just cut the end off that and make the tabs and then stick a washer down the end. Think it'll work?

June 20, 200421 yr If you email Pleiades, he can get you one for around $6, and it is the OE one from the dealer. I know the dealer has one, cuz he tried ot sell it to me...and I am going to get it unless you beat me to it! LOL
