April 10, 201114 yr OK so my wife and I came home about 11:30 last night and i live on a sloped street, but pulled in front of my house and got out and my car started rolling backwards so I opened the door to get back in but couldn't get back in it just nocked me over so I got up and watched it roll down into the house across the street. My wife was in the car the whole time by the way she didnt get out in time. So I run accross the street and down the driveway to see if my wife was ok. She squeezed out the passenger door and I knocked on the door and an old couple answered blah blah. Anyways we got the tow truck here today and pulled it out WHEW. Guys I gotta tell you it was hard to hold back the tears in front of like 7 tow truck drivers, but anyways it's very fortunate that the only damage is from the straps when they pulled it out, which I pulled out the front fender almost as good as it was and by the fuel door there's a couple little dents and the fuel door was kinda stuck but got it open and now wont close all the way. I am very happy that my wife didn't get hurt and Black Betty is ok. And of course started up right away but smoked like a MOFO. SOOOOOOOOO heres the pics!!!!![/img][/img][/img][/img][/img][/img][/img] Edited April 10, 201114 yr by subinewby
April 10, 201114 yr Sorry guys I dont know how to put up more than one pic at a timeThat's okay; we were all learners at the beginning. I usually load them into a photo album (see the User CP) and then post one with a link to the album if anyone wants to see the rest. I'm certainly glad you and your wife are both okay. And Black Betty. This could have been really ugly.
April 10, 201114 yr Holy expletive!!! That's crazy! Glad to hear your woman is fine. And man that's close to rolling. That must have been a pricy tow bill.....

But thanks for the good concerns I just remember watching my car go down with the wife in it and she got sooo scared. I cant blame her.

April 11, 201114 yr My wife was in the car the whole time by the way she didnt get out in time. Why didn't she pull the handbrake?
April 11, 201114 yr Author the hand brake needs to be replaced but you know panic mode you always think back at what you coulda done. At least she tried to put her foot over to the brake pedal
April 11, 201114 yr Wow scary, glad the wife and car are (more or less) ok (Hills are a major force to be reckoned with... my truck at work tends to roll away on the job if I dont keep an eye on it too)
April 11, 201114 yr did ZAP sell that car? the first pic I was like "just pop her in 4wd and she will make it up that!" then I saw the remaining pics... good thing those bushes where there or it woulda rolled and/or crashed into the house. So I bet now your gonna go fix the handbrake pretty soon huh?
April 12, 201114 yr So I bet now your gonna go fix the handbrake pretty soon huh? Or buy a set of these: (the chocks not the BMW rims)
April 17, 201114 yr Hate to see that man, I drive by your car all the time on fruit valley, glad all is basically well though.
April 17, 201114 yr I drive a blue 84 ea81 wagon, usually on my way to the dump in my coworker's toyota when Im driving by though.
April 18, 201114 yr It seems odd the way they went about lifting that thing up, in the second pic it almost seems you could of backed it up out there. but i didnt see it in person
April 19, 201114 yr well, at least you know your roll ever point is higher, which means you should not be afraid to drive it a little harder now:grin:.or at least at crazy angles...cheers, b
