June 18, 201114 yr Any advice on how to make a tool or where to purchase a tool to remove a couple of stubborn connecting rod pins on an EA82.
June 23, 201114 yr Best tool for that job would probably be a V8 hydraulic lifter puller, the slide hammer style ones where you twist the handle and they expand one end to lock in,quite common and fairly cheap for a special tool as pushrod V8 dino's are so common.
June 23, 201114 yr That's a great idea, I wonder if it would work? I just did this again on another EA81 with a ground down battery J-Hook bolt. It sure would be easier with the right tool. I think it's a Lisle 13750.
June 24, 201114 yr Concrete expansion bolt. Skinny one to fit inside the wrist pin. Turn nut to expand and pull on it with visegrips.
June 25, 201114 yr I've always gently used a slide hammer with an appropriately sized hook attachment on the end. Works a treat! All the best. Cheers Bennie
