What I am getting at is that in Australia we can legally fit 2" kits, but thats all, no 8" lifts, no 12" lifts etc etc. I guess we could do the divorced transfer case if we modified the driveshafts enough... About the most hardcore that we can actually get away with is the 3/4" kits so long as no cops get suspicious!! Anything over 2" lift you are basically running the risk of a defect notice - and to get it engineered by a licensed engineer it costs more than a kit does.
