FIrst Generation BRAT Pedal Car

Featured Replies

This is a project I started yesterday when I was given a Mini Brat shell that someone had stored in the rafters of their barn for 25 years.

Yes on the rear wheel drive, unfortunately so is my gas powered one.

Like you have a gas-powered pedal car as well? Or are you referring to your full-size Brat?

There is a gas powered brat go-cart about 3 hours from me for sale, I can't justify spending the money on it when I'm saving for a full size version lol.

That one looks OK it probably needs a full restore. I would say $400-500 would be more fair. My first one looked about like that and I paid $200. The shell I got the other day for this project was FREE!!!! The guy found it in the dump 25 years ago cut in four pieces, he took it home Fiber-glassed it back together and put it in his barn rafters to fix up for his kids (never happened). He saw mine online and emailed me to see if I wanted his shell. After I get a drive-train done I'll start on the body.

But what is most important - why is your Brat so dirty?  That is odd patterning for road salt/debris?

The Brat is dirty from oil coating from winter! It keeps the salt away!!!! Will clean off in a couple weeks when winter is over.

If there was any way I could talk my wife into getting a go-kart Brat, I would be all over it! That thing is sweet. What year is your real Brat? Mine's an '81 and I've had it since 1982 and 26k miles (185k now)

What da!!!!!!....there are mini versions of the Brat?!?!?!?!?! ....not fair.

Seriously guys, need one for my "son or girl" proyect......where can I find one of this to be shipped to Florida?

Love the look of these things, can't wait to follow this & see how it goes.

Alright, complete originality points for that paint job.  You have a "Hot Ones" Brat pedal car, lol. That is great!!!

Explain your oil comment.  You literally put oil on your cars?

edit: 22 second clip and that many cars?!  Busy road you live on.
