  1. That looks like a great find! The wheels on it are not something I've seen before. Those alloys are something I'd like to have. Nice bars & roof dam too. Look forward to seeing what you do with it. Cheers Jake
  2. This is awesome, from dead in a puddle for 20 years, to driving around! Only a Subaru Brat can do things like that. Keep up the good work on this one.
  3. That is one good looking Brat, that front bar fits it well.
  4. Hey everyone, It's been a while since an update on my Brumby & recently I've made my best change to it so far. It's taken a couple of months to gather all the bits together & get organised. But as of last week it has power steering fitted. Even though they don't need it, it is a huge improvement to the driving experience in these little cars. The car that most of the bits came from was an 83 Touring Wagon. It's a straight forward bolt in procedure, as long as you get all the right parts off the wagon. The first shot is one of the wagons I got some parts off. Then the next one is the job in progress & the last one was taken this morning on my way to work. It got a wash yesterday & I put my 14" wheels back on for the hell of it. Cheers Jake
  5. Just had a guy I know send me this picture, it belongs to someone he went to school with. He's obviously a vey accomplished welder & I can see the effort he has gone to. I hate it though. He has some nice wheels though.
  6. G'day, Nice Brat you got yourself there. With the gearbox I would say that it has been replaced with a 5spd all wheel drive box from a later model. Or possibly a gearbox from a front wheel drive loyale. To check I would get down & look at the back of the gearbox & see if there is a driveshaft that will run down the centre of the car to the rear diff. Hope this helps you work it out. Cheers Jake
  7. Hey mate, That green will look really good I think, can't wait to see it done. I was wondering how you lowered the front end, I really like it. I have been considering doing this to mine ever since I got it. Cheers Jake
  8. The white 13s are my favorite on Brats that aren't raised. That's looking real good now, you guys are gonna be the kings of cool 13" tires.
  9. I guess you could try masking up & painting over them. You have the outline there already, so if ya careful it should turn out good.
  10. Hey that black paint job shines, love it.
  11. I'm jealous of all your rear jump seats you get your hands on over there, I wish we had that feature over where I am. Doesn't look like a bad thing for $100.
  12. Good score on the wheels & tires
  13. Love the look of these things, can't wait to follow this & see how it goes.
  14. Hey Earl, The addco swaybar was part #353, I'm happy with it so far. Can do with the photos of the decals for ya shortly, may grab a spare set off ya when there done. I'm a happy customer of yours, got the little decal for under the 4wd lever. I went out & hit some trails in the Brumby today, so tomorrow after a wash I will snap some shots for ya. Cheers Jake
  15. No that's right no power gain to be had, if anything it is slower. The mileage on both gas & LPG is worse than before too but it is just over half the price of regular gas, so it is a considerable saving if you do a lot of miles. The octane rating of LPG is higher so you can bump up the timing to try & get some performance back. Cheers Jake
  16. No cracks in the dash pad, & fairly rust free, should fix up good.
  17. Hey there, that extra fuel filler cap is from the LPG tank. Due to the very high fuel prices we experience over here it is popular to get your car converted to run on LPG. I don't like it though & have since removed all the kit & would Iike to eventually weld up the extra filler hole. This is a pic of the gas cylinder when it was in the bed This took up way too much room in the bed as well Cheers
  18. That looks like its in very good shape. Dont be scared, they are very simple to work on. A good car to get to know a bit more of the mechanical side of things.
  19. G'day all I've been lurking on here for a while & have picked up heaps of useful info from you all. I was thinking it was about time I at least posted a few pics of my Brumby on here for you guys to have a look at. I took a 12 hour return trip to tow it home on a trailer to my house. Since getting it I have mainly concentrated on getting it in good running order so I can use it to travel to and from work. I have also got hold of 2 different sets of wheels in 13 & 14 inch & fitted gen 1 Legacy seats. The cover was gone off the back so I got a new one of those too. My most recent addition is an Addco rear swaybar that I got Jegs to ship over for me. Okay enough outta me, here's the photos: Hope you all like it Cheers Jake
