Best looking replacement for brat tail lights

Featured Replies

I am trying to get my brat Street legal. I need some taillights. Besides stock ones(can't find any for under 100$),any one have a recommendation?

You could wire in a trailer light plug with a converter box and use trailer lights on a bar until you find a set of factory ones.

They also have magnetic towing lights that you can stick on your bumper. check your local u-haul store or a trailer/camper sales place

1978. I'm missing the headlight mounting brackets , taillights, side markers, blinkers, and gauges. Could also use some decent front fenders. I will probably go with trailer lights for now. If anyone has a lead on parts near Olympia Washington I'd really appreciate it. Thanks all!

I might have some cracked rear brake lens for a gen 1, would that work?

Just the lens or is the plastic mounting part that the bulbs sit in there?

Kirzick, if you are still looking, then by all means, but I'm actually looking for a left side tail light lens for a '79 Brat. Did you say you have one kicking around Scooner?

I might, this weekend I hope to do an inventory of parts I have and do a parts for sale ad in market place...if we don't get a foot of snow.

I have a set of rear gen 1 brake lights (full assembly). They were the originals that came with my truck, lenses are cracked but fully functional. If you're interested I can swap in my good ones (haven't done it yet) to make sure they work and I can sell you my old ones.

That would be great! Ya, my lights work, its just the back left lens that got busted, so thats what I'm looking to replace. so i guess it would depend on how badly they are cracked. PM me some pics?

I'm sorry man, I lost this thread over time and just remembered that I was offering you those lights. I haven't put them on yet, but I will do it here shortly. I subscribed to the thread so I don't miss any replies, and I'll see about getting you those pictures. Sorry again.

You say back left, you mean passenger or driver? I assume you mean driver. Unfortunately I think the passenger looks better.

Hey man I got pictures. Message me your # and I can text them to you.

Since you're seeking "Best Looking Replacement" Tail Lights for the Subaru Brat,

Why don't you stuff there, "Euro Style" Clear tail lights?

I've seen here in Honduras, many Brats with those clear tail lights,

designed as replacement for the Toyota 22R pick Up.

Yesterday I was driving behind one example, see:

Sorry for the Cheap Cellphone's Photo... Kind Regards.

Jez, I did some searching, but really could not figure out what Toy PU year to order for.

So these will fit Gen 1 Brats with no cutting?   Anyone have a link to order these?

I'm not completely Sure... seems like Hondurans are using tail lights that were intended for the older Toyota HiLux:

The best idea for fitting, is to take measurements of the area on the Brat, and compare those with different Toyota's Tail Lights, untill you find a suitable replacement.  Maybe the fitting is not perfect, but isn't noticeable.

Kind Regards.
