house paint

Featured Replies

my 88 wagon has house paint on it ,i think it is latex,i hope, the kid tried to paint the car because he didn't like the color of the car or he was ticked off at his mother don't know which. how do i get the paint off without ruining the paint and rust underneath?

If you scratch at the latex with a finger nail, does it come off?

i will try both it hasn't washed off in the rain yet.

Rubbing alcohol is sometimes used to remove unwanted latex paint from surfaces.  Not sure how practical it will be for an entire car.

try a hair dryer it should peal off with a little heat the pressure washer might remove or chip the factory paint around the edges but would remove the laytex fast and if your gona paint it anyway you got nothing to loose

Try hot water and soapy water first. If it's super thick, use mineral spirits. The mineral spirits should not hurt the orig paint, I would try a small area first and see how it works, before getting crazy with it. Maybe ask a paint store if it be ok to use as well.
