Looking for GL/loyale snap on plastic headlight covers

Featured Replies

Many years ago i had a 88 GL wagon that had a plastic snap on /off headlight covers to keep the glass from breaking. Anyone know if these are still available?

Still looking for some help here

Edited by Fish-N-Fool

Never replied to this thread because I thought someone in the US might be more help. The ones I have on my wagon were made/from a NZ company called Airplex, looking through their website they still list headlight covers for the 85 onwards leone.

Might not be your best option, but I suppose it is one.

On my GL I had 1/4 inch thick soft clear rubberized plastic covers.  They adhered directly to the glass.  Never had a broken light the whole time I owned the car. (I got them from my dealer parts department, but that was back in 1997 or so)  But you may be able to get a place that installs clearbra and similar stuff to custom cut you some if they offer headlight protectors.

These used to be a popular accessory for Aus cars also. Aunger was a company that made them. However, with the switch to plastic headlight lens in the late 90s, this market pretty much dried up.

I have a pair getting pic now
