Crawlerdan
Hey guys, long time no chat- im working for a Subaru collector temporarily. He has a 1-86 production rx 3 door . Someone long ago messed with the car and put wrong cap and rotor on, shaved parts with a grinder, made a fool of themselves completely. We cannot for the life of us find correct parts. The distributer has the 4foot long wire to the pass side with a round black plug, screw on cap, screw on rotor, d shaped shaft. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Crawlerdan
Kinda. That’s had a snap cap and I don’t see knock sensor plugs and a large black plug
jono
Hitachi dist with four pin module inside screw Down cap and vac can for 85 86 turbo in Australia use Australian numbering scheme GH617 cap and GH605 rotor LookWWW.eBay.com.au
GeneralDisorder
Send it to Philbin manufacturing and have it rebuilt/modified as needed. That unit will be 85/86 specific using a separate ignition/knock module. You could just use an NA distributor and an MSD box that has programmable boost retard. jono
A collector may have a requirement to keep it factory. I have one of those msd units never used it but is designed to work with many normal standard dizzy coil combos
Crawlerdan
Thanks guys! There are no requirements to keep things factory. I’ll be putting an ej22 in a brat eventually. Thanks for the info!
jono
that pic of Silas's is of a NA dizzy for sure - clips, two / wires, and basic vacuum advance canister not boost retard as well
