Is an 85 Brat similar to a 84 Gen 2 wagon?

Featured Replies

I am wondering if the 85 Brat uses the Generation 2 parts an 84 Gl wagon uses.

Front doors backwards is different. Centre console swaps over too.

Great for parts. PS and AC will swap in.

Cheers

For the majority, yes. What exactly are you planning?

When my '84 GL wagon frame rusts into nothingness, I plan to what parts I can on the '85 Brat.

Like Bennie said.

basics like fuel pump , components , front struts - save your top mounts unless they’re hopeless , 4WD related items , front end steering / suspension , engine , tranny , linkage , radiator , consider cutting the front radiator support Incase of a front end accident , windshield ( nice n careful and yes you can ) , dashboard , shifters , heaterbox (or at least salvage the parts that break - look for white plastic etc. , dome lights , wiper motor , steering wheel complete. That’ll keep you for most of your lifetime and maybe help the next guy too.

Front valance or “lower skirt” as some refer to it. Pretty sure those and the 4WD wagon are the same. They all get banged up but if your wagon has one that’s at least workable it could be a smile on your face one day to at least have one.
