Fan Hit the Radiator but why/how?

Featured Replies

86 GL10 Fan hit the radior I believe while I was accelerating. I came out to a pool of coolant under my bumper the next morning. Could my motor have shifted forward while under load because something is worn? Any input would be appreciated. also suggestions on aftermarket radiators or should i try to get an oem if possible? Thanks!!

Check your pitch stopper rod and ensure it’s still bolted in firmly. Also check for broken engine or gearbox mounts.

Cheers

Yeah, things flex normally a bit, more as mounts age or crack n break.

This is the clutch fan off water pump?

I ditched mine and fitted twin electric fans and being EA82 in EA81 body and radiator think things are closer, I had a pulley just buzz my fan wiring insulation until I better retained wires
