October 6, 20205 yr Hello all I am new here. I just bought a 1992 Loyale base wagon with 1.8 and 3 speed auto tranny. The car is absolutely mint and only 133k miles but I just found out the motor has a spun bearing. I cant find a motor or someone to rebuild mine here in AZ. Any ideas? I really don't want to spend too much more on it. I can't part it out as my HOA wont allow that. Any ideas?
October 6, 20205 yr Swapping a motor isn't hard if you can find one. Though with the 3eat it might me better to swap a 5 speed at the same time. I've got a motor, but I'm all the way in Florida. Maybe someone more local could help.
October 6, 20205 yr It's yours if you want it. It has like 260K on it. I have a 4wd 5mt. Only thing missing for a swap is the shifter top is broken, and the rear section of the drive shaft.
October 6, 20205 yr Author that's a lot of smiles. I think I'm just going to sell the whole car. I'll let someone else have all the fun. Any Buyers?
October 6, 20205 yr 1 hour ago, Spock said: I'll have to check, its got power windows and locks I'll let u know. Power windows and locks were made standard when they went to the Loyale from GL/DL, so they are super common.
October 7, 20205 yr Also I would baulk at 260k. It still has good oil pressure, and all the lifters are still working. You keep the oil clean and at pressure, an EA82 will last a long time. The normal culprits for killing them are oil pump gasket and timing belt snapping which kills the oil pressure, or just all the oil leaking out. Overheating/bad headgaskets only really kills the EA82Ts because the heads crack. Edited October 7, 20205 yr by Ionstorm66
