October 7, 20205 yr Does anyone know the approximate HP difference between a '95 fuel injected EJ22 and one that has been converted to a Weber and an Escort distributor?

Tuned correctly it will be the same. Tuning an EFI car is much easier. If you're already using a stock ECU that is correct for the application, no tuning needed.
October 7, 20205 yr Author Thanks for the response. Good to know. That is my 'plan B', IF I ever get around to making the swap.

October 9, 20205 yr I would love to see evidence that a single or twin barrel carb can get the same performance as a MPFI setup. Carb vs SPFI I'd agree, MPFI I doubt very much. Even Subaru's own EA82 shows a marked improvement from carb to MPFI (9kW, minus what was gained from increasing the C/R).

Wasn't just MPFi that changed the EA82 MPFi, it got quad runner intake manifolding and twin intake port heads

Also the power gain could be entirely artificial to justify the increased cost.
