Talked about doing this back in the mid-late 90’s.

86-92 GL or GL-10 (brat in storage)/wagon or XT/6

plus

VW TDI 1.9 ALH power plant (have in storage)

plus PK Davis liftkit

 

….

GL hatch or XT6 all the way.  

Ok, that’s jibberish to me. 

I’m guessing you’re wanting to drop some VW diesel in an L series GL or GL-10 or XT6/Vortex. 

What gearbox would you use?

that diesel is short enough?

there were some Subaru diesel crate engines available at one time, or source a used one from overseas?

 

back in the 70s, folks were putting Kubota diesels in some small cars.......

 

or maybe a Mazda wankel ?

Ok I edited , I’m guessing low torque for the off-roading which is where PK comes in.
