November 1, 200421 yr i found cancer yesterday in the normaal wheel well spot on the ru....damn i was hoping not to have to deal with that.i drove her and she stress cracked the paint.so i dug.not happy.what is the best way to deal with this?
November 1, 200421 yr I've heard good things about a product called POR15, basically wire brush rust away then add this product and paint it will eliminate the cancer. I'm in spokane to and you can buy it at KC auto-paint supply. Jay
November 1, 200421 yr Author the cancer has been very bad so far.......i am aware of por15.but in this case i am sure ther will need to be welding involved.i just do not know if others have had to weld there shock tower mounts again.it is only really bad in a couple of spots.needless to say she is not coming out of the garage until spring.....even with canopy.....
November 1, 200421 yr crank your t-bars up and remove the shocks, that's what I HAD to do, also had to remove the rear 1/2 of the driveshaft, and the floor has a ski slope! wheelwels? we don't need no stinkin wheelwels!
November 1, 200421 yr has anyone done a major revamp of there wheels wells?bump Bummer guy, rust sucks. :-\ Hopefully this will inspire you. There is hope, check out page three. http://members.cardomain.com/bratboy This guy's board name is Akira if you want to ask him questions directly. By the way, Jerry hooked me up with my rather large cancer issues. Jerry Rocks!
November 1, 200421 yr Author yeah , i may have to talk to jerry in the spring.i did a thorough search on the car after that and that is the only major spot .i just like to run hard and do not need a shock going through my bed if ya know what i mean.
November 1, 200421 yr HA! I have you all beat just take off the shocks, you'll be fine!! I will second this comment. Ihave only see one other brat worse than his, and it was a gen1 that nearly fell apart in my driveway
