February 18, 200521 yr Ok, gonna make this really short...What are all the safe jack points on my 92 loyale...The rear jack points are getting a little rusty. I'm used to Vehicles with FRAMES. So, i'm new to the unibody. Where can i safely use my floor jack/scissors jack?
February 18, 200521 yr I place my small floor jack under the frame-rails of the BRATs to lift them from the side. It's also where I place the jack stands. If you want to lift both front or rear wheels off the ground. Place jack under engine crossmember, (along with a chunk of 4X4), or under the rear diff. Now with that said, not to sure how one would raise both rear tires on a 2WD 'Ru. Haven't had the chance to be under one of those, yet. Got one coming though......
February 18, 200521 yr I jack up on main crossmembers or heavy suspension parts where rust hasnt taken its toll so badly.
February 18, 200521 yr Yup, jack it on the rear diff and the crossmember that the rear of the skid plate bolts to. Those points can take some abuse, trust me:brow: .
February 18, 200521 yr if you jack the car on the side put the jack against the tube frame just ahead of the rear wheels. that is all on the suspension, so it wont crush the body. be wary of jacking along the pinch welds this is a subaru and not some GM
February 19, 200521 yr Yeah, don't use the pinch welds. They are WEAK. Corse, mine are useless ,not from jacking it up, but from landing the undercarrage on the ground while getting stuck.
