March 28, 200521 yr My FI y-pipe is all dented from playing horse with the Jeeps in Bangs Canyon. I've got a good y-pipe from my carbed parts car, if there was some way I could use it that would be convienient.
March 28, 200521 yr Take the spare Y-pipe down to a local Muffler Shop. They can install O2 fitting for you.
March 28, 200521 yr You can also buy a weld in bung for O2 sensors. Then you torch out a hole, weld in the bung, and your O2 sensor will screw in. Time for some real skid plates out there on the rocks!
March 29, 200521 yr weld in bung you said bung:lol: Joel try Trade center salvage out passed the mall. I got them to sell me and EA81 Y pipe a few years ago.

There's only SPFI car in the all the junkyards in Junction! It's down offa S 5th... It's a 90 4x4 with a bad 3AT, but the y-pipe was rotted. Aparently the guys there used to race a Hatch in Tough-Truck competitions! They got a kick outa the wagon. Anyway, a local muffler shop said $35 to do the job. More than twice what I paid to have my diff welded, but not bad. BTW, anyone know what the thread pitch is for our 02 sensors?
March 29, 200521 yr a universal one from napa screwed in, so its about the most common o2 thread pitch out there. other than that... im useless =]
November 16, 200520 yr i'm looking to get a carbed y pipe from the marketplace forum from XNRG. with a welded in O2 bung will i be good to go on my MPFI XT? other than the O2 sensor the carbed vs. MPFI y pipes are identical?

It seems that way,at least for SPFI. A local muffler shop put in my bung for $15.
November 17, 200520 yr Almost all oxygen sensors have M18x1.5 threads. So do 18mm spark plugs, actually. You can get 18mm "spark plug non-foulers" from the auto parts store that can be easily made into weld-on-able oxygen sensor bungs with a little cutting. They're basically little spark plug extension dealies: http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=RNB&mfrpartnumber=42009
November 17, 200520 yr I did it!!! I did the SPFI swap so I needed one... went to napa got the o2 and bung... used a hole saw and cut a bung hole, then used a socket to keep the bung in place while I welded it on...... works good
November 17, 200520 yr i think i have one on my carb'd ea81 88 gl hatch. there's a wire going into some sort of fitting on the cat. do some years have them and some not?
