Featured Replies

You da man Skip.

I am VERY interested in the DP and XP.

Im just wondrin what the XP will look like....oh, email 2 come 2 ya 2.

hmmm I'm liking the header. It sounds to me that Andrew wants the catless downpipe and a header for his car.... I might be in some *bling bling* if I do it for him:D

if you look closely in the pics, you can see there there is a spot for it, right where it would be in the stock location.

So Skip, how is the working commin on the X pipe?

As WJ said, it is in the factory location, I buy a bung that is made to replace damaged ones and weld it in place.

the X over pipe: I bought a cross over from Morgan from an EJ 22 turbo and am going to marry the best of it to the jig I got from Witte for the EA82

*Old Thread Bump*

What ever happened to producing this downpipe and all? Seems like everything just trailed off just when people was getting really excited about it. :-\

holy old thread bump bat man!
Yeah it's old but it was without closure! When I research stuff, I want closure darn it. Maybe Skip took and sold his header design to some company in Australia and now he's living pig rich off the profits.

Brian-The Subaru Junkie, had his up for sale a couple of days ago in the market place. Nice looking downpipe. I would've bought it but I like bellmouthed DP's a steal at the price he's looking for.

Looks good but you might also want to have 3/4" or so of pipe to slide into the outlet of the turbing housing to clean up the wastegate turbulance. It wouldn't even need to be connected to the down pipe, it's just a sleave. Also, I would build up the weld on the outter side of the wastegate pipe so you can radious the inlet on the turbine side. Otherwise, when the poppet valve opens at maximum, you may be blocking the wastegate tube, thus defeating its purpose.

I just used an orage-slice of sheetmetal to flow the wastegate exhaust right into the downpipe and it works awesome. This setup does make it easy to install an external wastegate in the furture though. Your new pipe should spool much quicker than the stock. You should take it for a spin before installing mufflers, cats ect, you will be amazed! That's how mine is all the time!

correct you are

this small curved section (basically a cut out

of a 1/2" long piece of 2" exhaust pipe) is welded to the flange

to direct the waste gate flow. It is not shown in this older picture.

The complete pipe is also wrapped in header wrap.

This keeps temps up and exhaust

gas flow as high as possible.

I run only a hi flow cat as a muffler as I have emission

testing.

The current waste gate poppet valve opens as far as the waste gate diaphragm will open it

within the relief cast into the turbo's flange.

My concern was that the poppet would obstruct the flow into the wastegate pipe when fully open.
