August 13, 200520 yr ive had one in a hatch for 3 years now... guess i should get ready for the inevitable huh?
August 13, 200520 yr Well, there's another "new" one in the '84 Auto BRAT you got from me. Of course, it's one of the smooth-top ones, and those are the ones that go bad. You want one that the top is crimped-on, not rolled-on. But with that said, if it's "mail-ordered", you don't know 'til you get it. That's why I re-mounted the one in the '84 so it points up instead of laying on it's side. That way, it "possibly" won't loose it's oil, which is the major cause of them failing.
August 13, 200520 yr I've had mine for almost a year now.. works just fine.. I carry the original coil in the car now as a spare because of all the failures ive heard of.. but just like archemtis said.. Everything breaks.. dont get too worked up over it.
August 14, 200520 yr I've put about 30k miles on mine, and the only thing that stopped it was the body of my car rusting out (R.I.P. the Rustbucket)
August 14, 200520 yr Feces occur. Both of my cars have had one for over 5 years and have performed flawlessly.
